Grid lines on CarPlay screen after detail

Grid lines on CarPlay screen after detail

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but has anyone ever seen grid lines like this show up on a CarPlay or other display after a detail?

This was my first ever detail and I’m bummed by this.. the shop tried to tell me that’s “just what CarPlay screens look like” in a car I’ve owned 6 years. It looks a bit less noticeable when the screen is on, but it’s not really the aesthetics I’m worried about - could it be water damage that will get worse over time?

Back to school supply drives?

Anyone know of any back to school drives going on or other ways I could donate school supplies?

I used to love back to school shopping as a kid and it’s just occurring to me now I could still do it this way. Looks like a lot of the Denver drives ended in July though

Election Day is here; we made it through the mailers!

Congrats to all, especially those in CO House District 5 / Senate District 34 on making it to primary day. I have never in my life been so hounded by political campaigns (and I lived in a swing state in 2020!) Carrera and Garcia-Irlando, if you or your campaign staff are reading this — please note, receiving these giant mailers every single day made me seriously consider voting for neither of you

Fire immediately after lightning strike (possibly related)

There was just a huge flash of lightning in five points (close to Coors Field) and now something seems to be on fire down Park Ave going toward 25. Hopefully the rain helps put it out

Moving neighborhoods in Denver - something greener?

Hi! I am not moving to Denver, I’ve lived here for 4 years but I am considering moving neighborhoods and wanted some feedback from folks who’ve lived in them!

Tldr is that I live in five points near Coors Field, off Park and Walnut. I’ve really liked living here but want to maybe try something new, especially something more leafy/green/nature-y but still with great walkability, proximity to a vibrant main drag, and easy access to highways. I currently pay $2100 for a large two bed in a big apartment complex, open to other housing styles but don’t want to pay much more than that. I’m 28 and work outside of Boulder

Longer version, here’s what I’ve liked about my area:
- Very walkable
- Great selection of bars, restaurants, stores
- Feels like almost every event/pop-up/thing I want to do is here
- Extremely fast/easy to get out of the city on either 25 or 70. Like can hardly think of a neighborhood that would be more convenient

Now for things I would love in my next neighborhood:
- Greenery! Living next to a park or on tree lined streets with old trees, birds, wildlife, etc. My neighborhood is so damn hot because there’s no trees
- A grocery store in walking distance would be a dream!
- Still vibrant in terms of restaurants and stuff going on. Not a suburbs person
- Still good access to highways. Key thing is I work in Boulder area, but also hiking/camping/skiing
- I love beautiful old houses and would eventually like to buy in Denver in 2-3 years

Here’s where I’m considering:
- Curtis Park - my favorite neighborhood in Denver. Would still be close to all of my favorite spots currently, so beautiful and leafy. But the park is small and it would be longer to get out of the city
- City Park West - I like City Park a lot, there are lots of nice pretty streets, and if I was close to the main stretch on 17th I’d still have stuff to walk to. The idea of having to travel on Park Ave that long to leave the city gives me hives
- Sloan’s - my favorite park in Denver, but I don’t like the surrounding area much - not many restaurants/bars I love besides Odell’s and it’s a lot of strip malls, chains, and high traffic. Would also be longer to get anywhere out of the city than where I am currently
- Tennyson - feels really similar to the main stretch of Larimer in five points to me! Nice green-ish area and wouldn’t add much drive time to any of my destinations outside the city. Gets me closer to Sloan’s but still not really near any big parks. Pricey but not impossible

Thanks for reading this, if you did! I would appreciate any insights :)

Copper was better conditions than even 3 weeks ago - maybe because they’re concentrating on fewer runs now? - and the pond skim was a blast. Brief blue sky broke through but it was really dumping snow most of the time. Good note to end the season on!!
