TAD snapped in half!

Context: I had a posterior TAD on my 4 TAD custom MARPE fail, so my ortho removed the two posterior screws a few weeks ago while i waited for a replacement marpe to ship in.

I was eating lunch today and my marpe split in half! The solder joint on the jackscrew broke, i went and checked if anything fell in my throat, and it was all clear, the jackscrew was still attached to the other half. I kept eating (I know 😅), and a few minutes later the entire half of the marpe fell out with the TAD head!! has this happened to anyone else? This seems mechanically pretty crazy for a titanium screw !

Does cheekbone pressure mean your suture has split?

20F, custom marpe, 4 screws, non-hybird (entirely bone borne). about 6 turns in (slow protocol) and i haven't seem a split yet, but i can feel pressure in my cheekbones, does it just take time to show up? i'm worried it's starting to fail but that seems nearly impossible with a piezo split, and entirely bone borne marpe at 20 years old, i think the device seems to be flexing outwards? is it normal for a slight flex as the device becomes activated? anyone have a similar experience?

Does CPAP effect MARPE?

been wondering, will air pressure from CPAP increase the effect of MARPE projection-wise by further pushing the nasal cavity open wider over time? Or is the effect negligable? (I'm assuming for nasal CPAP only, obviously mouth CPAP won't be doing as much. Is this similar to how nasal breathing develops the skull in young children?
