Mouse pointer jumps to center of window

SOLVED

[Last night Fedora showed me updates were available for Plasma. After the updates, when I hover over any of the window buttons (Minimize, etc.), the pointer automatically jumps to the center of the window. Likewise when I try to resize a window with the mouse, the pointer jumps to the center of the window and I can't do anything to the size. I can't find any setting to fix this.

Edited to add: just noticed it's even worse. The pointer jumps when I hover on *anything* that creates a little informative popup.]

I figured out what was wrong. It wasn't the fault of Plasma. I had enabled the option "cursor follows focus" on the Karousel extension. Disabling that option removed the jumping.

Changing kernel

I hijacked Fedora, fetched Arch, kept Fedora as init. On the Arch stratum I installed a kernel that is newer than the one from Fedora, but I don't know how to make that kernel show up when booting up.
