Overworking Watercolor?

Overworking Watercolor?

I’m noticing both of these recent watercolors look pretty muddy, thoughts? I switched back to watercolor from acrylic, and I think I’m used to too much blending. Appreciate any tips on improving mountain schemes based on what you see! Thanks! (No Reference)

Go Around Club!

I wanted to share my experience from the flight I took an hour ago in the hopes it helps someone to feel more comfortable about the skill level and knowledge of pilots.

Our landing path required us to “get in line” (typical) and we had to make a turn to do so. After doing that turn, we continued our descent. We reached around 400ft and it felt like we were about to land but instead sharply started climbing back up! I knew I was experiencing a “go around” (my second ever).

The pilot briefly got on and said that ATC had brought him in too close, so he wanted to circle again and not to worry. Just as he said, we ended up making a wider turn the second time and landing with no problem.

Now. The reason I wanted to post about this is I’ve seen numerous news stories with headlines that a flight “aborted landing!” and “dramatically changed course”. In reality, these stories are nothing to be fearful of. Go arounds illustrate the enormous talent, skill, and experience of pilots, as well as their ability to make the right decisions because of their extensive training. At no point were we in danger.

I hope this can help those of you who feel scared of landing and encourage you to be proud of being in the Go Around Club!!

It gets better, I promise.

Hi friends! I haven’t been here in so long… which is part of the reason why I wanted to pop in here.

Years ago, a flight months away was a trigger. My entire body was terrified for what was to come. My mind raced. I took Ativan to sleep WEEKS before the flight, let alone during it.

Today, I fly without any problems. I had a flight at 10pm last week that I almost forgot about until 5pm (lol!) I still don’t love all of it, I sometimes get nervous, and I wouldn’t consider myself a fan, but it’s okay, and I’m okay.

I know what it feels like to have your world feel tiny and harrowing. I know how deep that fear runs through you, suffocating and lonely. I know how hard you have to work just to make it through.

I want you to know that you are not alone. You can overcome this. It will get better. And you are so much stronger than you know.

Sending so much positive energy to you all this Sunday!
