Paul Zeisel and his clients “hearing voices”
I was looking for Zeisel’s prior testimonies and stumbled upon another case of Zeisel being the first one hearing about the “voices” from a murderer. These voices were strikingly similar to Lindsay’s, telling the man to “kill his ex girlfriend and then kill himself”.
The prosecution emphasized the defendant made no contemporaneous statements about any voices, but seemingly after meeting with Zeisel he started describing “voices” that commanded him to stalk and stab the ex.
The prosecutor’s expert testified the man had borderline personality disorder (hello, cluster B!) and was likely malingering.
Carlos Asencio was found guilty and got sentenced to life without parole.
