Cora, Dawson and Callan

These sweet children are victims. They were strangled with exercise bands by their mother💔 My heart is broken for them and for what they went through. May they never be forgotten and rest in peace🤍🤍🤍

I’ve been neutral, leaning toward sympathetic but today something shifted. It was her eyes..

I thought the defense had been doing a good job and had a really solid case for a while now, the DA has been really awkward/clumsy at times but I have been keeping an open mind to any conclusions. Yesterday I thought defense had it 100% until they brought up Dr Zezeil.. we all know his name has been mentioned a few times and confirmed on stand that he’s a friend of Reddingtons, something about the way he looked at the jury while talking took my trust away. It felt like he was another defense attorney, a mouth piece for Reddington to testify on the stand to some lies by omission and very corrupt plan. I wasn’t sure the da would be able to catch him in anything because he’d been so prepped but I think with their line of questioning it was pretty clear cut he has a bias and it’s a favor to a friend. Hell I saw Reddington is friends with LCs dad (saw mention could be a rumor) and if that’s true I’m starting to feel sick about the whole thing like it feels conspiracy level fucked with all these people having connections, everyone forgiving her, and spinning a story in the works for 3 years.. that’s the energy I’m feeling

Then to seal the deal for me? The moment it felt like I’d been fooled? Lindsay’s body language and face today, when she looked into the camera my stomach dropped.. the way she was looking at the DA, the smirking confidence, the wide eyes.. nothing about this woman read as it had before, before she looked anxious and over medicated with the fluttering eyes and nervous hands. Hearing the da mentioning the birthdays.. and I thought well maybe her parents are bringing food and company to honor the kids those days.. then they mentioned the anniversary of deaths.. another wave of nausea for me. The “my trauma”. I feel like I’ve been fucking fooled, like I saw a mask slip..

Lindsay being seen as the central victim and not her children is what really bothers me

I'm really struggling with the public perception in this trial. How Lindsay is viewed as the ultimate victim of negligence and not her children. How Lindsay was failed by every single person in her life. How Lindsay suffered. Etc

I'm trying to have empathy and keep an open mind since the trial is not over yet. I don't want to dismiss maternal mental health struggles and I understand that conversations regarding post-partum mental illnesses have been long overdue.

I'm just really struggling to see how Lindsay Clancy of all people is being treated as the poster-child for such conversations when she never had a history of psychosis.

Thoughts? I'm open to hearing everyone's thoughts, whether they agree or disagree.

You still watching?

Lindsay Clancy is very aware of everything going on. She acts in a trance until the jury leaves then she relaxed for a second but had to check if we were still watching. She’s very careful to act traumatized as much as possible.

So you’re telling me

After killing Cora Dawson and Callum, she gets to spend her days on her phone, playing dominoes and eating takeout with her parents? That is absolutely sickening. She needs to be locked up!

Over the body shaming

I just need to get this off my chest. I am so sick of the nasty name calling of the CW prosecutors. I’m not going to repeat some of what I’ve seen online in order to avoid perpetuating the behavior, but the hypocrisy and distastefulness is wild. These women are not in this role to serve looks.
It’s especially frustrating when history shows us that if these women were dressed to the nines with their hair done and a face of makeup, people would attack them for that too. There’s just absolutely no winning for them and I really hope this doesn’t take too big of a mental toll on them ♥️

LC smiling ear to ear during triple murder trial for her young children

I can hardly believe my eyes. Day 11 of ✨mama’s✨ trial for wrapping resistance exercise bands around her children’s necks as they struggled and fought for minutes, slowly dying one by one. The only witness this day was nurse Jollotta, 4.5 hours of testimony. Looks like LC is seeing money signs. Pictures 2 and 3 show outfits match up for the smiling photo being taken on this day. What a foul human being

The Smug Look On her Face Today

Did anyone happen to notice the arrogant and smug semi smile on the murderers face when Dr. Zeizel was being cross-examined about her activities on the anniversaries of the death and her children's birthdays? Please God tell me the jury picked up on this. There she is folks, there's the real Lindsay. ZERO REMORSE. she looked like she was amused by the entire thing🤮

Dr Z is lying through his teeth

Go ahead and look at the thoughts about him on the psychiatry subreddit. He acted unethically and is not speaking truthfully about psychosis symptoms nor her own reported symptoms prior to the murders. He continues to claim that she told the medical professionals that treated her things she never ever said. For instance, he says she spoke about hallucinations in December. Unless he is speaking about his own conversations with her, in which she reflected on that time period, he’s straight up lying. Every single professional that evaluated her before the murders including the TWO different psychiatrists that separately evaluated her AFTER the murders (before Dr. Z) all say she denied auditory/visual hallucinations.

Additionally, he said she was having intrusive thoughts which he claims are always ego dystonic (not in alignment with goals/desires/values). Well she did in fact want to kill herself so I don’t know how those are ego dystonic. He then described these intrusive thoughts as a voice in her head. He says these were indicative of psychosis. Okay, sir. That’s called her own stream of consciousness. Not a hallucination. She now claims per the lawsuit that these were always auditory hallucinations. I’ve confirmed with DSM and other sources that an auditory hallucination is NOT the same thing as an intrusive thought. It’s always audibly heard and experienced with the ears. The location of the voice it may seem to be inside the skull or outside of oneself but they’re always audibly heard… no different than hearing someone speaking to you.

Why is he calling these intrusive thoughts? Intrusive thoughts, even disturbing ones like “what if I hit that pedestrian with my car right now?” are universal. People with OCD (which is NOT a psychotic disorder) have intrusive thoughts like “stab your husband” or “kill yourself”. They feel very upset about these thoughts and yet they do not want to obey them nor do they act on them. That’s why they’re called ego-dystonic. These are NOT audible hallucinations. They are not audibly heard.

He mentioned she thought these thoughts were being inserted by an external force. Okay, sir, well that would perhaps fall under a delusion, per the DSM, not a hallucination.

Finally, he said disassociation/depersonalization is a sign of psychosis. These symptoms are very common in panic and anxiety disorders. They’re not indicative of psychosis in and of themselves!

He is lying and exaggerating the truth. I feel bad for every person with OCD or panic disorder who experience intrusive thoughts and/or DPR who are now wondering if they’re psychotic lol.

Is her postpartum illness now "cured"?

Seems that it would be helpful to know whether her symptoms resolved and if so, how long after she was admitted and whether/not she is still requiring anti-psychotics. Can they get that information? (If she's still having delusions or had them for weeks/months, I would think the defense would be sharing that information.)

I feel like this is the OJ trial but with gender instead of race

And I think she’ll get off because she’s a conventionally pretty, thin, “mom”with an old white man authoritarian lawyer and the DA’s are chubby and somewhat annoying.

What do men think of the Lindsay Clancy case

I’m really curious to hear specifically from men — fathers, brothers, husbands/partners, sons, etc. — about the Lindsay Clancy case.

I’ve read a lot of discussion from women, particularly mothers, about Lindsay’s mental health, the children, and the circumstances leading up to what happened. But I’m interested in hearing how men view the case.

What do you think about Lindsay and her mental state at the time? What are your thoughts on Patrick Clancy , including what he has said publicly, his actions before and after the deaths, and the situation he found himself in as a husband and father?

For fathers especially, I’m curious how you imagine you would cope if you lost all three of your children in circumstances like this. Do you think you would ever be able to move forward with your life? When you look at Patrick’s actions and statements since the deaths, do you understand the way he has handled things, or do you think you would have done things differently?

And for men who aren’t fathers, I’d still really like to hear your perspective as a husband, partner, brother, son, or simply as someone looking at the case from the outside.

I’m not asking because I think there is a “right” way for someone to grieve, and I’m definitely not trying to turn this into men vs women. I’m genuinely interested in the male perspective because I’ve read so much from women about this case, but comparatively little from men.

I believe she’s criminally guilty

I find the defense’s psychosis claim difficult to believe. I agree LC was very unwell mentally but I am not convinced with the defense’s (IMO frankly unsubstantiated) claim that she was in psychosis and I think she knew right from wrong when she killed her children, and is therefore criminally responsible for the murders.

In her civil suit against her healthcare providers, Lindsay claims that she heard a male voice throughout the day on Jan 24. She claims that the moment Patrick left the house, the voice commanded her to kill the children so she could then kill herself. She claims she felt a force come over her and had no control of her actions. She also claims to have said “go to god, baby” when strangling the children.

As per his testimony, Patrick comes home on Jan 24 after picking up meds/takeout and finds Lindsay on the ground. She tells him that she tried to kill herself. When he asks her where the children are, she says, “in the basement”. Wouldn’t she have said something like “they’re with god”, if she was psychotic and was being controlled by the voices telling her to kill the children?

The fact that she understood that the children’s bodies were still in the basement where she left them to die, and was able to accurately convey that to Patrick, demonstrates insight and logical thinking that is based in reality, rather than delusional thinking, and contradicts her own claim that she was psychotic and needed to obey the voice and send them to god.

Additionally, it would be more convincing that she was psychotic if she still somewhat believed that her children had gone to god and had this ongoing delusion/hallucination while she was in hospital. However, she was calm and cooperative and did not display any signs or symptoms of psychosis. She also made no mention of her children being with god at any point after being found.

I’m highly doubtful that she was in psychosis, although I can understand that’s what the defense are claiming in order to help Lindsay avoid jail and create a stronger case for their civil suit.

At the end of the day, I’m not on the jury. Just felt I could share my thoughts here, and hope that justice will be served for Cora, Dawson and Callan.

Where are Cora, Dawson and Callan in Lindsay's narrative?

Many of you have mentioned how absent the children seem from the defense narrative.“Team Bow” seems to be the only side keeping Cora, Dawson and Callan visibly present in the courtroom.

Today I've been thinking about how different LC comes across compared to other mothers with similar defenses. She somehow seems to be the central victim of her own actions.

I recently read an article about Carol Coronado, who killed her three young daughters while severely mentally ill. And a long time afterward, Carol apparently believed they were still alive. She asked about them, spoke about them in the present tense and believed they might walk through the door. When her attorney finally told her exactly what she had done, she became hysterical and inconsolable. And her mother reported that she kept on saying things that didn’t make sense for years after the murders. Coronado was nevertheless found legally sane and sentenced to three consecutive life sentences without parole.

I'm not suggesting this is how someone who was genuinely psychotic must behave. But the contrast is striking.

From very early after waking in the hospital, LC seems remarkably future-oriented: she worried about her recovery, rehabilitation, legal situation, marital situation, and even expressed wanting to pursue a career as an advocate for postpartum women. WTF?????

Throughout the testimonies is emerging a woman that displays an (unusual?) intense self-focus and need for attention/reassurance. The constant monitoring of symptoms, repeated contact with providers, extensive research, strong preferences about treatment. It is also reiterated ad nauseam what an exceptionally loving mother she was. I'm not diagnosing that or claiming I know what it means.... but it makes the absence of the children in her accounts feel even more striking.

So much of the larger narrative is about what happened to Lindsay: her illness, medications, treatment, how the health care system failed her - I guess now are supposed to believe her family also failed to take her hallucinations seriously. Her family has rallied around her, and now entire online communities and rallies are centered on supporting her.

In my opinion, the testimonies have shown a woman with considerable agency. She was actively managing her treatment, researching symptoms and medications, making choices, rejecting recommendations and seeking alternatives. Yet afterward, the narrative increasingly casts her as someone things simply happened to: failed by providers, failed by medication, failed by the system.

How does someone with so much apparent agency become almost entirely passive in the story of what happened, while Cora, Dawson and Callan, who really had no agency at all, gradually disappear from it?

This isn't an argument that LC didn't react “correctly” but doesn’t it support her being criminally responsible? I don't even know exactly what I'm asking anymore. Just had to vent.

Paul Zeisel and his clients “hearing voices”

I was looking for Zeisel’s prior testimonies and stumbled upon another case of Zeisel being the first one hearing about the “voices” from a murderer. These voices were strikingly similar to Lindsay’s, telling the man to “kill his ex girlfriend and then kill himself”.

The prosecution emphasized the defendant made no contemporaneous statements about any voices, but seemingly after meeting with Zeisel he started describing “voices” that commanded him to stalk and stab the ex.

The prosecutor’s expert testified the man had borderline personality disorder (hello, cluster B!) and was likely malingering.

Carlos Asencio was found guilty and got sentenced to life without parole.
