IIGS sleeper build for around $1500

I recently got my hands on a broken IIgs with accessories and am looking to gut it and make it an awesome sleeper gaming pc. It would be my first build, and I am quite excited. Other subreddits kinda ignored me, so I’m looking here! If you have other creative ideas to use the other accessories (- monitor) for, I would be happy to see them. I will try to get back to every reply. Also considering retrobrighting, even though this is the wrong sub to ask about it. Thanks!

  • New build or upgrade?

completely new

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

guess just the case

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

For gaming. I generally play less intensive games like KSP, Minecraft, hk, etc , but that is probably only because of my current hardware restrictions. I would like to play more graphically intense games.

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors)

US. I have a Micro Center close to family so count that

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

I’m fine with a single monitor. I would like it to be 1440p 120 hz. OLED would be really nice but I don’t know if that’s possible. I have no gauge on size

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

~$1200-$1500

  • WiFi or wired connection?

Definitley WiFi

  • Size/noise constraints?

Parts should snugly fit in the Apple IIGS case

  • Color/lighting preferences?

The parts would be internal, so not really, but white is nice

  • Any other specific needs?

minimal tampering with the case, though I am okay with cutting of the current I/O ports fir the new one

Need help building a IIGS sleeper build for ~$1500

I just got my hands on a busted IIgs with nearly every accessory except the monitor. I’m looking to gut the actual computer and put my build inside. I am also wondering if I should retrobright it, but this isn’t the right place. I want for it to primarily be for gaming, and to include peripherals with the total cost. This will be my first ever pc build. Please help Reddit!
