📣 Announcement Regarding Donation Posts
r/CatCarePH will continue accommodating donation posts for pets needing medical care. However, we would like to remind everyone that veterinary expenses are ultimately the responsibility of the pet owner.
Please do not rely solely on donations for your pet’s treatment. As pet owners, we also expect you to shell out and contribute financially to your pet’s care to the best of your ability.
We encourage members to raise donations ONLY for the amount they genuinely cannot provide on their own.
To improve transparency and accountability, donation posts will now be required to disclose:
- Estimated vet bill
- Current funds/cash on-hand
- Amount needed
- Payment/procedure date
This helps donors understand the situation better and ensures that community support goes to those who truly need assistance.
Donation posts are subject to the following statuses: OPEN, ONGOING, FUNDED, and CLOSED.
- 💰 OPEN — Currently accepting donations
- 🟡 ONGOING — Treatment/case is still active and donations are still needed
- 💙 FUNDED — The required amount has already been sufficiently reached
- 🛑 CLOSED — Donations are no longer being accepted
Post statuses will be updated by the moderators accordingly.
To promote responsible fundraising and fairness within the community, donation posts may be marked as FUNDED/CLOSED once 50% of the requested amount has already been received from community donations.
Let us not abuse the kindness of the community we built. Thank you!
NOTE:
- We'll remove the post if your cash on hand is <₱ 1,500—the minimum amount the pet owner should have, which is the vet's usual PF + meds.
- If you’re a student pet owner, send us a message.
