I like Eli but…

(this is typed on mobile. sorry if it looks weird!)

Him consistently being casted with Angela cannot make me form an actual opinion on him. Unlike Emily, Guchi, and Courtney T. Who’ve all showed their potential comedy to the channels and to other cast members in varying ways.

I like his humor, it definitely vibes with me. He’s funny, he’s quick witted, and can be on the nose with his jokes. Although, I want to see his humor be explored more with other cast members.

It doesn’t actually help me associate him as the one of the new cast members when all I could is see him as Angela’s friend. And this is no hate to Angela at all! I just want to see his humor and dynamics with other people.

He does bounce off well with Angela, but it feels too safe sometimes because of their already established friendship. Like him and Chanse should be in more videos, maybe him and the other newer members. He seems on the calmer side of loud humor, he could bounce off with Emily too if that’s possible.

This might not be the case for long, once the new friends get confirmed as cast. It’s just not the strongest first impression for me when it came to him in his first batch of videos.

All in all, he’s great. I really enjoy him, along with the others.

(and if this sounds parasocial, i’m sorry if it did! not my intention!)

How to start a Substack as an aspiring author/essayist

Hello! Sorry if this is a question that has been repeated before. I'm a frequent Tumblr-user hoping to turn to Substack to talk more deeply about other topics that I am unable to on other socials. My blog on there is so fandom-entrenched.

I like writing original stuff, but I am still unsure if I want to publish that on Substack just yet. Still thinking about it though! Maybe not when I start out.

So, I have thoughts on using it as a way to discuss media/pop culture/fiction/fandom culture in my own subjective interpretation. Mainly as a way to encourage discussion.

And as a plus, are there blogs that could help me get a reference? I just want to see what people do.

If a book gets adapted twice (like 2 different movies from the same book years apart), is the second one another adaptation or a remake of the first movie?

Hi! Not that much of a cinephile or an avid watcher. Very much a casual and normal fan. I’m wondering on you guys think of this question?

Started because of a friendly debate with my mom, discussing the different adaptations of All Quiet on the Western Front.

This is for friendly debate and something to satiate my curiosity on this.
