when you post your criticisms, the tag says respectful, but yall be calling people annoying, dumb, saying that people should be fired, etc.

like sure you’re entitled to your opinions but why have insults become the norm when it comes to critiquing cast members.

for example, i read a post from the other day that essentially called olivia stupid. that’s really rude 😭

when they’re playing games, they’re allowed to have fun together even if there isn’t much like actual gameplay 😭 isn’t that what we’re watching for anyway? if i wanted to watch someone play ultimate werewolf seriously, i wouldn’t watch a Chosen edition of it. i watched a chosen edition of it because that’s funny.

does this make sense?

I read that Tommy was pulled from the wavelengths vid cause he was injured, is that true?

There are some episodes I like but most of is dry, and the views show it. the last episode cant even reach 300k views and its been 10 days. Do you think some new series for the main channel is coming soon? I mean they hinted new shows with the new studio but still the main channel has been left only with bit city every 2 weeks.. how do you feel about it?

My [favourite cast member, likely Angela] hasn't been in a video for 2 days. To anyone who says they shoot them in advance and she was busy on shoot day no they don't fuck you. They put [cast member I have a grudge against because] in videos instead of [favourite cast member, likely Angela]. WTF is wrong with the directors. I'm so worried about [favourite cast member, likely Angela] what if she quit? Or the director is just being a big jerk to [favourite cast member, likely Angela]. I'm worried about [favourite cast member, likely Angela] I hope they're doing okay because the fact that they put up with this behaviour from their workplace must be so distressing. I am genuinely fuming over this and need to take some time off Reddit. Smosh is my comfort channel and the fact they would do this to me personally is abhorrent.

As an OG Smosh fan, I understand where people are struggling to feel like the new stuff is hitting the right spot. I’m not a fan of everything new coming from smosh. I’ve honestly never watched a full bit city video, and I’ve not watched a smosh main sketch in years. I stick to Pit and Games. However, I feel like lately a lot of people are complaining that the cast doesn’t feel genuine.

Now let me say, I agree to some extent in some videos, but I wouldn’t say it’s a constant thing. My example I’ll give is TNTL. I feel like when they started it, it was just some random video to fill up space in the shoot week and to cover Antony’s absence. Then it progressively turned into what it is today. But half the people that work on that show have been with smosh for 10+ years, through Defy, the unknown, Mythical, and now Ian and Anthony. They’ve seen what works and what doesn’t.

But at some point, they have to want to do this for themselves. If they pander to the audience and only do what the audience likes, then we will lose all the good things Smosh are doing. I love seeing the inside jokes even if I don’t get them because to me, that shows that they aren’t just robots programmed to entertain us but actually human beings.

A great example of this was the wavelength episode with Emily. I personally don’t find her funny and she wasn’t one of the ones I wanted to keep. But she jumped into the lore and inside jokes and genuinely had a good time and made Shayne, Tommy and Angela actually laugh which is hard to do. Also, Tommy was injured in that video and yet he used it as comedic timing rather than just complaining. As someone who didn’t know how it happened (I heard he pulled it during a sketch on Smosh main but don’t have proof), I like that it was used as a buffer for them all even if I didn’t understand it.

All in all, I do agree that smosh has changed, but I think it’s a good change as it seems like they are doing things more for themselves than just the audience which makes it feel more authentic.

TNTL hard mode should be the standard TNTL. Pity laughs aren’t worth it.

Maybe I'm a little stupid but it feels like the only difference was that they weren't allowed to pity laugh. I understand the occasional pity laugh to keep the video interesting or for some less improv skilled guests but imo if there's so much pity laughing in the main format that your 'hard mode' is just 'don't do that' then the format itself is overused.

EDIT: I think I need to clarify this is based on the most recent TNTL, I was unaware past 'Hard Modes' were different.

I don't know if this was discussed before, but it dampens the experience for me when I watch grown people spurt liquid out of their mouths, which another adult has to mop (essentially spreading the spit around), and then they don't sell that mop. And then they have bits wherein they lay down/crawl/etc on the floor. Hot.

I just wish they'd sell the mops.

I was never an OG fan of the older sketches, but I got into Smosh when “The Smosh Squad” came in. I watched for years and loved every video, and then suddenly new people got introduced into the cast. I originally didn’t like these cast members and felt the change was too big for Smosh at the time. The members I didn’t like were Angela, Amanda, Chanse, Arasha, and even Trevor. After the initial shock, some of these cast members became my favorites, and I now look forward to seeing them in new videos!!

My point is that the newer fans seem to be going through the same process, yet they are going through it in a different and more public way than older fans did. Not an attack on newer fans, I think it’s genuinely just how the internet has evolved and grown, but it’s still important for the older fans to see the patterns and help the new Smosh babies through the experience we all had back then.

My question is what everyone else in my boat has been feeling/thinking/doing in this new wave of discovery??

I just recently remembered listening to a Reddit stories about this guy (coworker, maybe?) who kept a folder(?) about this woman and wrote up stuff like ”you were wearing this and that today” and something about when they end up together. He was stalking her a lot and he was so in his head it was like it was his own reality. It was probably the most insane Reddit stories I’ve ever heard but I can’t find it anywhere

i know that this has probably been addressed before if not constantly, but looking through comments sections about angela, wether it’s on youtube, tik tok, instagram, etc, it seem that people genuinely think she’s an idiot.

not even that they she think she’s a little slow or just behind on certain things, but some people in comment sections wholeheartedly believe that her knowledge/intelligence doesn’t exceed a third grade level.

i remember reading a comment on a recent video that if shown a monkey, angela wouldn’t be able to identify it. and it’s things like that, that make me worry that people don’t realize that a persons behavior on internet content, specifically made to entertain, doesn’t dictate how intelligent they are. especially for someone with a learning disability.

Him consistently being casted with Angela cannot make me form an actual opinion on him. Unlike Emily, Guchi, and Courtney T. Who’ve all showed their potential comedy to the channels and to other cast members in varying ways.

I like his humor, it definitely vibes with me. He’s funny, he’s quick witted, and can be on the nose with his jokes. Although, I want to see his humor be explored more with other cast members.

It doesn’t actually help me associate him as the one of the new cast members when all I could is see him as Angela’s friend. And this is no hate to Angela at all! I just want to see his humor and dynamics with other people.

He does bounce off well with Angela, but it feels too safe sometimes because of their already established friendship. Like him and Chanse should be in more videos, maybe him and the other newer members. He seems on the calmer side of loud humor, he could bounce off with Emily too if that’s possible.

This might not be the case for long, once the new friends get confirmed as cast. It’s just not the strongest first impression for me when it came to him in his first batch of videos.

All in all, he’s great. I really enjoy him, along with the others.

I just wished they stuck with harmonicas or some other indicator that they laughed. Also! Many times they do clearly laugh, but just because water doesn't come out, it's not counted (?)

Hi guys so I came across a video about the new cast members (?? Idk if they’re officially cast yet) and so many people were so against Jared. Can someone explain why they do or don’t like him? I personally like him and find him funny I liked him in every video I’ve seen him in so far. I just want to know why so many people seem to dislike him.
