The lighting in Space NK

I’ve been in two Space NK’s this week. The one in Covent Garden and one in the Arndale centre. And in both, I felt I couldn’t see the colours of the lipsticks I was swatching because the lighting in them was an orange tone.

I’m seeking a beautiful true rosy pink with a blue base and both times I’ve been unsure, walked out and even though Covent Garden has you outside and the Arndale Centre has you inside, immediately the swatches on my hand change hue.

The lighting in Superdrug is more helpful!

I was thinking it was odd that LE Rose Official was so warm.

Has anyone else found this?

Clothing is confusing

These are two workout t-shirts in a women’s medium. One is Nike and one is Under Armour.

One is comfortable whilst still fitted. The other is very tight.

I got the Nike one and thought “oh maybe I’m not a medium after all” and then I bought the UA one and thought “hey, maybe I’m nearly a small!”

And that’s why measurements are probably more helpful than clothing sizes as a NSV!

Standing at JCS

I went and firstly, it’s really something special. What an experience to have.

Secondly, READ THE RULES THEY SEND YOU.

It’s very clear you need to be in plain dark colours and the vast majority of people were wearing black. But one lady turned up in a bright pink dress with large green earrings in. They made her stand towards the back. I don’t have black trainers so mine were a muted red and that was fine. Just be smart - dark plain colours.

Also, don’t wear a hat. Wearing a hat to the theatre is an odd choice to start with but when you’re stage? I didn’t see if they made them take them off but I did see a few people had looped them on their phone pouch.

Lastly, omg, it’s so special, I’m jealous of all you yet to go.

Pinocchio at The Globe

I saw this last Christmas - two days before it closed - and thought it was amazing.

I’ve just booked to see it again this year and I have to recommend it. It was absolutely magical. The puppetry was outstanding and the story was really good!

Nice long lasting lipstick/stain in a rose pink

I am Casper’s paler sister. And I don’t know if it’s perimenopause or what but lipstick just won’t stay on the inside of my lips anymore. I’m also not overly keen on the look of some of the more modern ‘wearing lipstick’ looks. I like a slightly more natural look.

I want a lovely rosey pink. I looked at NYX lip IV but I don’t know if it was just a poor selection of colours where I was but I couldn’t quite find what I wanted. Do mac last okay? Any recs?
