Stage 4 endo has left me unable to work how are you managing financially?
25F here I genuinely don't know what to do anymore and I'm hoping people here might understand.
I have stage 4 endometriosis, and because of how bad my symptoms have become, I had to stop working. I've been at home for about 3 months now. I'm physically not able to manage going to a regular office job and I've been trying to find a remote job, but I haven't been able to find so far.
The problem is that even though I can't work, my expenses just keep on increasing. My medicines, supplements, consultations, scans and other medical expenses are adding up every month.
I'm from a poor/lower middle class family also a college dropout and I have to fund my own expenses. I'm also contributing towards our household expenses because my mom isn't well. I had some savings, but after these last few months, I've basically used all of them. I'm now at the point where I'm genuinely scared about how I'm going to manage the next few months.
Health wise I'm currently dealing with chronic pain, fatigue, constipation, bleeding, acne and a bunch of other symptoms. I'm taking dinogest at the moment and have around 3 more months of treatment left. After that, my doctor wants me to get my AMH checked and then we'll decide about surgery.
So what are you guys doing when endometriosis makes it impossible to work normally?
If you've been in a similar situation, how did you manage financially? Did you find any genuinely flexible remote work that you could do while dealing with pain and fatigue? Did you qualify for any financial assistance, disability support, grants, charities, or other opetions that helped with medical expenses?
I'm especially interested in hearing from people in India, if there are any schemes or resources that I might not know about.
I'm honestly getting more stressed about money every day, and I feel like I'm running out of options. I don't expect anyone to have a magic solution, but even hearing how other people in similar situations managed to get through this would really help.
And please, no MLMs, scams, or "just start freelancing" suggestions that require money upfront 😭. I'm looking for things that are actually realistic when you're chronically ill and basically out of savings.
