Is a litter-smelling house just a part of cat ownership I need to accept?

Last week, I rescued two beautiful kittens who are 3 and 4 months old, since then my living room has always smelt like litter/waste.

I have friends that own cats and whenever I go to their homes it does not smell but I can’t seem to achieve the same.

Things I am currently doing:
• Using Worlds Best litter
• Scooping as and when they use the tray
• Air purifier next to tray
• Essential oil diffuser
• Enzyme cleaning powder after scooping
• Changing litter once per week
• Vacuuming around tray regularly

I plan to move the litter tray once they’ve got used to exploring the house a bit more so it will be out of the way but I assume the smell problem will just persist in a different room.

Is this something I just have to deal with until they’re spayed and go outdoors?

Can anyone photoshop my best friend out of this photo please?

Absolutely no hate to my bestie at all!

I love this photo but never smile or like pictures where my teeth are showing so I would really like to be able to use it as a profile picture as well as keep the version with my friend.

(Bonus points if you can make it look like my armpits aren’t hair (they aren’t) but not a need)

Thank you in advance!

Lived in a 2 bed house for 2.5 years with my child. Had routine inspections and never any issues raised with me as a tenant. I requested a cat about 18 months ago and was told no for without a reason given.

I have sent an email to the letting agent this morning asking if I can adopt a cat and am now nervously waiting for the response. Anyone else?

▲ 3 r/EMDR

I’m currently 2 sessions into processing. I am doing EMDR virtually via Teams and following a dot on the screen.

My issue is that I’m struggling to focus and feel that my mind is too focused on the dot as opposed to the memories. It takes me 20/30 minutes to get into it but my sessions are only 60 minutes long.

I also have ADHD (medicated) so unsure if this is a factor.

Could adding another form of bilateral stimulation, such as sound, help?
