Help! Don't Know Which Species Is Best Fit For Me

Hello! I've been wanting to get a small rodent for a while now. I have never personally owned a rodent, but I have owned plenty of dogs, cats, and birds, and I have also worked as a zookeeper, so I am familiar with rodents such as degus (which made me fall in love with rodents in the first place-- these guys are awesome!!), guinea pigs, and mice. I am totally comfortable with having to do daily, weekly, or monthly cleanings, as well as upkeeping enrichment and diet necessities. I just can't seem to come to a conclusion about where I should start. I was initially interested in getting a single Syrian hamster as they seem to be of the friendlier, slower type and easier to handle as a first-time owner, but I have seen others talk about how awesome female gerbil pairs and mice pairs are to watch and to get to know their personalities, even if they're a bit messier. I am totally open-minded, but I think I'm so indecisive that I just need a few more insightful opinions, maybe from some small rodent owners. Thank you in advance :)

Nearby Off Campus Housing Available ASAP

Hey! Just throwing this out there in case anyone is in the same boat I was in last May, desperately looking for somewhere to live last-minute that wasn't a million dollars a month.

I'm looking for 1-4 people to take over my lease for a 2-bedroom 1-bath apartment ~4 minutes to campus, on multiple bus routes, and with heat and hot water included. If you or anyone you know needs somewhere last-minute with a move-in in June 2026, let me know :]

Hello! I've got only two semesters left at UMass, and I want to take some fun and or interesting classes, and I was thinking about trying to take a five-college foreign language course. I know starting a new language wouldn't necessarily be an "easy" addition to my schedule, but I really am interested in getting the most out of college outside of my major, and I think languages are quite practical.

That being said, would it be a bad idea to start with a foreign language class when they're meant to be a four-part series? I'd only be able to do two of those classes. If not a foreign language class, does anyone have any suggestions for a five-college course that would be cool to check out? Thanks!
