Currently has an S5 front wheel, do you think it could take 650c if I change the brakes to a short reach brake?
I got this old Raleigh record from a local bike shop that I frequent. It currently has a 27-in wheel in the back and a 24 inch s5 (iso 547) wheel in the front. The problem is, that there's only two tires available for the S5 size currently and I'm not going to be able to have a matching pair of tires to make it look nice, let alone have options for something of better performance. I'm no stranger to converting 27 in to 700c in the back, but it looks to me like an iso 571 Just might fit in the front, maybe not with the current brake reach, but possibly with a more modern road bike caliper in place of this seemingly medium reach caliper. I currently have 11.5 mm of space between the top of the tire and the reflector that also would be removed. I think I would need 12 or 14 mm in order to handle the iso 571 wheel.
