WARRANTY PROCESS QUESTION
I have a 14TB WD Red+ (WD140EFGX-68B0GN0) that has the click of death. It has a build date of 16 MAY 2023 and was purchased, with two other identical drives, on 28 JUN 2023 through Amazon. Warranty check shows that it is under "limited" warranty until 28 JUL 2026. When I attempt to initiate a warranty RMA via the WD site, it says that I have no drives currently eligible for RMA/Return even though the system clearly "knows" the drive exists. If I try to re-register the drive, the system tells me it is already registered. I plan to wait a day or two and try the process again but if anyone has any ideas I'm open to try them. Did I get "grey market" drives from Amazon? I would think that the WD warranty system would alert me to that fact with some type of verbage, if true, but who knows. Thanks.
