In the Korean War, how did the hill positions work?

Hello! First time posting. I'm doing research on the Korean War for a work assignment and have been looking everywhere for a map that shows hill positions. This is my first real deep dive into the subject, so I'm struggling to understand some of the information I'm finding. I'm looking into a US army solider who was MIA on hill 287. I can't find a map or description anywhere that explains where this hill was or how these positions were created/named/changed. Does anyone have any information on the hill style warfare that happened during the Korean War?
