Sausage with a curry soup?

I want to make a carrot lentil soup I really enjoy, but knowing my husband, he will want an animal protein with it. The soup is made with ginger and curry. I thought about cooking up a few sausages separately to cut up for his bowl. The store has a few varieties of sausages, but Italian sausages (sausage with fennel) are on sale.

I know fennel can go well with curry, but does it pair with ginger? Should I get another type of sausage or just cook up some chicken and call it a day?

I think my favorite example of this is the Office's two part episodes. I believe that is what clinched the early fanbase. Back when they only released one episode a week, a two-part episode would usually be apart of a cliff hanger and the audience would have to wait for the outcome. The Office, instead, turned the two part episodes into special hour long treats for the viewers. The episodes were also pretty epic with some of the most iconic scenes coming from these specials.

The Heists episodes from Brooklyn 99 are another of my favorite examples. In these the characters were allowed to be as outrageous as they wanted without it impacting the rest of the series plots. We get some truly iconic laughs from these episodes and they definitely help define the series.

Lastly, Scrubs made the cut-away gag its own. Other shows like Family Guy use and abuse it, but in Scrubs it is an crucial part of the story-telling and laughs
