How am I supposed to use these headphones without the ear pads?

I bought the ASUS ROG Kithara headphones 5 months ago. I used them almost continuously for about 1.5–2 months, then switched to IEMs and barely used the headphones afterward.

When I decided to use them again, I noticed that the ear pad had started coming apart. Apparently, this is a fairly common issue, as I’ve found many users reporting the same problem both on Reddit and the ASUS forums. I’m attaching photos of both my own headphones and other users who have experienced the same issue.

It has now been over a month, and my problem still hasn’t been resolved.

I paid $300 for these headphones, and ASUS is basically telling me to use them without the ear pads.

ROG KITHARA Ear Pads Peeling / Adhesive Failure Within 5 Months

Hello,

I purchased an ASUS ROG KITHARA headset approximately 5 months ago. Under normal desktop use, both ear pads have started separating from the plastic mounting ring due to what appears to be adhesive failure.

I would also like to mention that I primarily use in-ear monitors (IEMs) for gaming and daily use, so the KITHARA headset has actually been used only occasionally. Despite this relatively light usage, both ear pads have developed the same issue.

The leather material itself is not worn out from normal use. Instead, the adhesive between the ear pad and the plastic mounting frame has come loose on both sides in the same area. The headset has never been dropped, exposed to excessive heat, or otherwise misused.

Since this issue occurred on both ear pads after less than 5 months of ownership and relatively light use, I believe this is a manufacturing or material defect rather than normal wear and tear.

I have attached photos showing the condition of both ear pads.

I would appreciate it if you could review this issue under warranty and advise me on the available repair or replacement options.

Premature Failure / Defective Ear Pad Seam – ASUS ROG KITHARA Headset

Dear ASUS Support Team,

I am writing to report an issue with the ear cushion of my ASUS ROG headset, which I purchased approximately 4 months ago.

I primarily use IEMs for daily desktop use, so this headset has been used very rarely and handled with extreme care since I bought it. Despite such minimal usage, the inner seam of the ear pad has unexpectedly peeled open, exposing the inner foam.

Given that the product is almost only 5 months old and has barely been used, this issue is clearly due to a manufacturing or adhesive defect rather than normal wear and tear.

I have attached clear photos showing the seam separation on the ear pad for your reference.

  • Product Model: ASUS ROG KITHARA Headset
  • Purchase Date: March 12, 2026

Could you please arrange a replacement pair of ear pads for me under warranty?

Deezer always opens with "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles?

Hi everyone, I just switched to Deezer Premium a few days ago and transferred my playlists from Spotify.

Now, every single time I open the app, it automatically starts playing "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles. It's getting really annoying.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

I got my second pair of iem (kiwi astral) but...

Hi everyone,

I previously used the Truthear x Crinacle Zero and absolutely hated it everything about it was terrible for me. I recently switched to the Kiwi Ears Astral paired with a FiiO K13 R2R DAC/Amp. My first impressions are decent, but even the smallest stock eartips are causing discomfort (I even tried soaking them in hot water for an hour, but it didn't help).

Because of this, I’ve ordered a set of Dunu S&S tips. However, I’ve read some comments claiming that the smallest size (S) of the Dunu S&S tips tends to distort or degrade the sound quality. Is this true?

If the Dunu S&S tips also turn out to be uncomfortable, what would you recommend for someone with very sensitive/small ear canals?

Also, does anyone have a recommended peq for the Kiwi Ears Astral that works well for both gaming and music?

Help me choose my second IEM (Competitive FPS Gaming)

I’m currently using the Asus ROG Kithara with a FiiO K13 and I’m pretty happy with it, but since summer is coming and I also want to try something new, I’m looking for a new IEM.

I previously used the Truthear Zero: Blue and honestly didn’t like it at all. The sound felt really bad, harsh and fatiguing and it gave me headaches even short sessions.

I only play FPS games, mainly Tarkov, Battlefield, etc., so I’m looking for an IEM that performs really well for competitive FPS gaming.

The first IEMs I found are:

  • ZiiGaat x Fresh Reviews Arete II
  • ZiiGaat x Hangout Audio Odyssey 2
  • Kiwi Ears Astral

My budget is around €250–300.

As I mentioned, I only care about FPS gaming performance. Do you guys have any experience with these, or are there any other IEMs you would recommend in this price range?

Asus Rog Kithara vs Simgot EG280

First off, yes I’m fully aware that I’m comparing an over-ear headset to an In-Ear Monitor.

Right now, I’m using the ASUS ROG Kithara paired with a FiiO K13. I’m generally satisfied with the setup, but since summer is hitting and it's getting hot, I want to give IEMs another shot. I previously tried the Truthear Zero: Blue, but I honestly hated them the sound felt bloated and gave me a massive "headache" after short sessions.

I play FPS games exclusively, so separation, soundstage, and imaging are my top priorities. I’ve seen some buzz around the Simgot EG280 and youtubers say Eg280 pretty solid for gaming.

The problem is, I don’t have a way to test them beforehand, and I don’t want to throw money away if they won't suit me.

My questions for you guys:

  • Does the Simgot EM6L have any actual advantages over the Kithara specifically for FPS gaming?
  • In terms of imaging and "wallhack" directional audio, would this be an upgrade or just a waste of money?

Looking forward to your thoughts!
