Shrinkflation by stealth?
During this cost of living crisis I’ve been more mindful of what I buy and have lately enjoyed the savings at Aldi. But I was peeved that my smoked salmon (already a pricey buy) was under weight by 26g. I honestly thought it was a once off allowing for tolerable discrepancies but this has been a recurring thing with their smoked salmon, and chicken (not sure about their other meat products).
Surely the tolerable discrepancy doesn’t allow for a product to be underweight by 13% of the marked weight! Or, are they allowed to include the weight of the packaging?
