More shrinkflation 😆
Only this time it's the prices not the weights 😎

I went shopping today and all the self checkouts were open! No staff running around closing and opening things off, surprisingly they didnt even have one staff manning it.
Has the customer and staff backlash to the changed the annoying new policy? Or was I just lucky to have a convenient shopping experience again? What has it been like at your stores?
During this cost of living crisis I’ve been more mindful of what I buy and have lately enjoyed the savings at Aldi. But I was peeved that my smoked salmon (already a pricey buy) was under weight by 26g. I honestly thought it was a once off allowing for tolerable discrepancies but this has been a recurring thing with their smoked salmon, and chicken (not sure about their other meat products).
Surely the tolerable discrepancy doesn’t allow for a product to be underweight by 13% of the marked weight! Or, are they allowed to include the weight of the packaging?
Finally got to try them and damn they are gooood and cheap as well. Also finally got to trying the roti, I’m behind the ball don’t judge me!
What other delicious finds do you reckon are high rated?
Partner randomly bought this during our last grocery shop. Tried it for the first time tonight and omg why haven’t i bought this sooner! May have already eaten half a block 😜😜 and claiming it as mine haha
Only did a shop a few days ago and so far I've had limes lemons and apples all spoilt. They were stored properly and when I bought them they looked decent and fresh. Say what you will about Coles or woolies but in recent times I've never experienced this with them.
Shame, aldi. We expect better from you.
How do they hold up?
Just came across this TikTok about Aldi's grand opening in China and I am mindblown. I would come here every day if they offered this in my neighbourhood (maybe even several times per day). Obviously we need to adapt to Australian tastes but why can't Aldi be this comprehensive over here?
was working in remote WA for a few years so my only options were colesworths.
Now moved back to Melbourne with Aldi closeby with public transport. Went to buy a lot of stuff to setup the new place and then I went through the receipt and everything was cheaper than coleworths, some staples by a few cents, others by even a dollar or more based on weight. that makes it way cheaper overall, not like ‘oh there’s these 2 items that are cheaper, everything is cheaper here”
I understand that it had less variety of products but you can easily buy most of the stuff you need from there and then you can pass by coleworths for something specific you are missing.
Like buying at Aldi doesn’t feel like highway robbery unlike colesworths when you are forced to buy something that isn’t 50% off so you know you are being robbed.
For those who have bought it recently, are they any good?
It’s June and I currently have $270 Christmas dollars at Woolworths so at that pace I should have around $500 Christmas dollars.
I mainly shop at Woolies because it’s closest but I do really love Aldi. But my Aldi is 45 minutes away. Tend to spend $250 a week at Woolies and maybe $100 a week at Aldi.
So anyway my point is do you think I would save $500 a year shopping only at Aldi?
Does that make sense?
So cheap!!.
This Colway mayo was so good. The other week I was making a sandwich and thought “does this mayo look a bit ‘grey’ or is it just me?”
Then I found this bottle of good stuff in the cupboard at 9%
Why Aldi, whyyyyyyyyy

I just lit up and had the best toasted cheese sandwich with this cheese. 10/10. Will always be buying over that green block that tastes like chalk now.
