I’m heading to South America for 4 weeks with my old trusty Osprey Kyte 36 where I expect to pack about 10-12kg.

My issue is that I’m doing an overnight trip to Machu Picchu where there’s a maximum luggage size (8kg) and we have to bring 2L of water.

I’m thinking my options are:

1. Pack a tote bag, put my excess baggage in there and leave it at our hotel, take my Kyte on the Inca trek
2. Bring an additional daypack that holds the 2L of water and my overnight stuff

Looking for bags that might be suitable for option 2, as it gives me a bit of extra flexibility, but open to suggestions from anyone that’s done something similar.
