Quake 3 can’t join servers anymore

Anytime I try to join a server, it says “vpn connections are not allowed” before saying “incorrect challenge”. However I do not have a vpn active so I don’t know what the first message is about. It’s been happening on every server, even supposedly active ones I find on A51 and q3retro

I’m on port 27960

Does anyone know how to fix this? I am fiending for classic quake 3 lol

Quake 3’s single player campaign is underrated

I recently got into quake so kind of late to the boat but I just want to say the single player bot ladder campaign in quake 3 is actually really fun and badass. The AI is incredibly advanced, especially for a game from 1999, and the map design is really good. The progression from tier 0 to tier 7 is really satisfying with a nice curve in difficulty and depth. It’s also good practice for the multiplayer and shooters in general. Most people say the game doesn’t even have a campaign mode, but it does and it’s fun and good practice. I wish quake live and quake champions had something like it

Maybe I just have weird tastes but I first came to this movie for the suspense and shock value and gory set pieces but I came out loving the storyline and even finding interesting themes throughout it too. Don’t get me wrong, the gore and shocking moments and death sequences were all perfectly done, but I also think Wendy is a really interesting character. She’s frequently viewed by others and herself as a control freak. After the accident, she desperately tries to keep control of the situation by using the photos and warning others of the future. The movie’s antagonist is not just death, but fate, which is the ultimate form of control. Wendy isn’t just fighting death but the idea that her life is predetermined.

Wendy obsesses with the accident because it showed we don’t have full control over our lives. Sometimes something out of our control can significantly change or even end our lives. We’re just living until we die. Other characters accept this and continue their regular routines, being found at gyms, tanning salons, etc. while Wendy can’t accept it and tries to use the photos to maintain control over life and death itself.

At the end, Wendy must come to terms with the idea that some things are out of our control.
