Abandon me like the flowers.

Like the flowers that leaves its fragrance in my hair long after the touch is gone, like a lingering kiss you gave me that night.

Like the flowers that rests on your shoulders, when your eyes are filled with nothing but love for me the day I became yours.

Like the flowers laid at the feet of the mighty, reverent and devoted, as though every petal was the amount of respect and love you had for me.

Like the flowers pressed between the pages of your notebook, kept safe in memory, when we laughed sitting on our sofa, looking at it remembering our smiles in the classroom.

And at last...

Abandon me like the flowers resting upon your body when all that remains is silence, offering love even after love can no longer be returned.

But never like a flower forgotten on a café table...

left behind without a second glance,

its petals curling inward as the day grows old.

If you must abandon me,

let it be with remembrance.

Not as something misplaced,

but as something once cherished.

If all the sinners are destined for hell,

then tell me, where do they go who love the one they were never meant to have?

If all the sinners are destined for hell,

what about the souls who spend their nights yearning for a heart that already bears someone else's name?

If all the sinners must burn,

what about the ones who would trade their existence for a single feather, just to brush against the sleeve of the one they love?

And if this love is my sin...

then let me commit it a thousand times over.

Let me see you, fall for you, love you, crave you, carry the weight of your absence until my last breath leaves me.

And when death finally takes my hand, I'll walk my soul to the gates of hell if I must.

For if loving you consumes me,

then I will vanish smiling, because there is no fire crueler than a heaven where you never loved me back.

And perhaps the world will call me a sinner...

But no soul could ever be purer than one that asked for nothing except the privilege of existing in your vicinity.
