In the past few days, I’ve been finding one of these per day.

First day, found a dead one by my front door, so I was hopeful he was just a one off creepy crawler that wandered inside. Second time, I had to sacrifice a bunny slipper and kill one that was in my bedroom. And then this morning, thankfully I had set out glue traps last night, and sure enough I had another late-night visitor. I’ve had a handyman already seal up under my kitchen and bathroom sinks. I plugged up my drains. I set out d.e. powder and rhymes with Lorax and I still got this third one in last night. I’m starting to suspect it came in through the door again, but I had also put a smaller door seal piece to cover a hole I had noticed after the second roach. What the heck, is it my air conditioning? Or possibly still the door? I do live in an apartment complex in Southern California. My maintenance keeps saying they’re “water bugs” that are prominent during the beginning of summer and that it’s not worth getting an exterminator.

Second photo shows the plastic piece I added to seal the gap my door originally had.

Third photo is my air conditioner lol

Need advice!

I killed a roach on my carpet, how screwed am I?

I had no choice but to stomp on it with my bunny slipper. I quickly gloved up, threw my slippers into a small garbage bag, grabbed what was left of the roach’s body with Lysol wipes and wiped up what I could on the carpet with more wipes. I sprayed some of hydrogen peroxide cleaner spray and went to bed. Today I’m growing this paranoia that I shouldn’t have stomped on it because I’m hearing that I now run the risk of having roach eggs burrowed into the carpet. To settle my fear some, I’ve sprinkled a good amount of Borax on the area it was murdered and plan on vacuuming after 24 hours.

Any advice?

Is this a roach?

So this evening, I found this guy after initially finding a large dead roach and a few dead silverfish by the front door of my apartment (inside). This guy came out when I had been panic cleaning (mopped with a antibacterial floor cleaner, laid traps, ordered bait gel, laid diatomaceous earth by said door seal and then sprayed the area with a peppermint spray.) I’m panicking from finding the dead roach, but now is this another roach or perhaps a relative to the silverfish? Google lens said lawn fish in the first search, but cockroach the second time I took a photo. :(

FYI, the yellow color in the toilet water is floor cleaner!

I’m calling my management first thing in the morning. I just moved in this past week so I would hope they’ll get on it.
