Spray Painting Aluminum and Zinc Alloy

Hello guys!

I am about to do a DIY project that I have no experience of and hope you can assist me, like as an idiot lol!

Basically, I bought this Travalo Vector (Blue), perfume pod, and I want to paint it black. This is currently worth $70.00 each, so, yeah, it’s a splurge. No more long reasons why I want to take risk and paint it black as that’s another story, but essentially, I was given two pieces instead of one. Tried to send the extra one back, as it’s the right thing to do, but they never replied. So, I have now two pieces of this color blue.

So months after contemplating, and failing to sell the extra one, I have now decided to just paint the other one BLACK, for the sake of telling each other apart.

But since I have NO IDEA on how to start, I would ask for your help from you experienced guys on how to go about this. Normally I would just wing it out, same as my other DIY man-projects, but being that this is $70, I decided to post this and maybe get a few tips beforehand.

With all that aside, so these are the specifics. So, this Travalo Vector is “advertised” as “crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum and zinc alloy. It is totally glass-free”.

So that’s the material. Maybe it’s just advertising, but I have to assume this is aircraft-grade aluminum and zinc alloy. And I bought a couple of black automotive paint in spray paint.

So any step-by-step tips on how to go about this? My monkey-brain just instinctively makes me want to 1. Cover the parts I don’t want painted, 2. Spray paint like crazy and let it dry

Thanks for any of your detailed help, and God bless you!

Privacy concerns on adding people to my account, for Jellyfin movie sharing

Good gravy. It's 2 AM in the morning and I started this rabbit hole of sharing movies with a partner using Jellyfin and Tailscale. Please do note that I am an imbecile on this.

TLDR:

I am using Tailscale to share movies with other people on other networks, and maybe I myself sometimes when I travel. And I want to know what files are accessed.

Basically no Dockit, no NAS, no heavy rig or whatnot. Just a trying to be a nerdy guy, having a Windows machine, that wants to share movies.

So basically I have set up my Tailscale account. And my Jellyfin account. Hours and hours, finally successfully set this up to view my movies from my PC to my mobile phone. Of course I haven't tested if it really works remotely as I haven't gone outdoors yet, but the principles of it, I think 80% I am sure I set this up correctly remote-wise.

So my questions are more on security, and I am so dumb on this I know, but please bear with me:

  1. A Tailscale account for both of us is needed for my friend to access my movies. Dumb question. Will the person be able to access my computer IN ANY WAY, if I add him as user (Admin or Member) on my Tailscale account? As this step is needed for the person to access my movies right?

  2. A user said that instead of sharing and adding the person to my account in Tailscale, just share the device (with the Jellyfin server), and invite the friend through that share button from that certain device only. Is this true? And same question as well, pardon my paranoia, will the person be able to access my computer IN ANY WAY if I do that? Any configuration I need to know to make this secure?

  3. If the answer to the above questions are certainly not, then you mean to say that the purpose of Tailscale is just to share IP Addresses and not devices? Or is there something I should be knowing especially where privacy is concerned?

  4. Any configuration or set up you wish to give as pointers in order for my movie sharing experience be secure, and the people I share with will just have access to my movies/designated folder and nothing else?

Thank you so much really, my head is hurting because of 90% in YouTube uses Linux, Dockkit, NAS, and other setups, and I don't have the knowledge to dig deep on this.

I just want a computer I can dump my movies into, and share with a friend. And nothing else.

Thank you and God bless you!
