Spray Painting Aluminum and Zinc Alloy
Hello guys!
I am about to do a DIY project that I have no experience of and hope you can assist me, like as an idiot lol!
Basically, I bought this Travalo Vector (Blue), perfume pod, and I want to paint it black. This is currently worth $70.00 each, so, yeah, it’s a splurge. No more long reasons why I want to take risk and paint it black as that’s another story, but essentially, I was given two pieces instead of one. Tried to send the extra one back, as it’s the right thing to do, but they never replied. So, I have now two pieces of this color blue.
So months after contemplating, and failing to sell the extra one, I have now decided to just paint the other one BLACK, for the sake of telling each other apart.
But since I have NO IDEA on how to start, I would ask for your help from you experienced guys on how to go about this. Normally I would just wing it out, same as my other DIY man-projects, but being that this is $70, I decided to post this and maybe get a few tips beforehand.
With all that aside, so these are the specifics. So, this Travalo Vector is “advertised” as “crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum and zinc alloy. It is totally glass-free”.
So that’s the material. Maybe it’s just advertising, but I have to assume this is aircraft-grade aluminum and zinc alloy. And I bought a couple of black automotive paint in spray paint.
So any step-by-step tips on how to go about this? My monkey-brain just instinctively makes me want to 1. Cover the parts I don’t want painted, 2. Spray paint like crazy and let it dry
Thanks for any of your detailed help, and God bless you!
