Best way to mount a 4×8 steel sheet as a magnetic whiteboard?

I’m building a large magnetic whiteboard for my kids using two 4’×8’ 20-gauge steel sheets coated with dry-erase paint. The plan is to mount them one above the other to create one large whiteboard.
What’s the best way to mount the steel sheets to the wall? I’d like to keep them as flat as possible, avoid visible fasteners if I can, and make the installation look clean.
Any recommendations or experience with something similar?

How do I remove this light cap

This is the light fixture in our bathroom and we cannot for the life of us remove the cover. I've tried twisting it but it won't budge (perhaps I should try a little harder). Any advice? Thank you

Is there any way i could bond or stick two very small metal pieces ?

I don’t know how i broke my glasses and now I am looking for a fix, went to my optician but he said that he will need to find the hinge somewhere and it would need some time. Is there a glue or easy fix that could fix that ?

What is the best way to fill these gaps at the base of my interior door frames?

Had floors replaced 5 years ago and it left these gaps. What would be the best material to use to try and fill them? Would need to be robost to Roomba, mops, kids etc.

Edit: just to clarify, looking for cheap options i can do myself. New door trim or raising the floor are not viable.

Edit 2: im gonna try caulk with small backing pieces, based on this vid:

Advice for Cutting Holes in PVC

Hi all,

I need some advice on how to do this properly. Here’s the situation:

I would like to cut a patten of either 1/4 or 1/2in ventilation holes into a 1/2in thick sheet of PVC. I’m struggling to decide

#1 How to make sure the holes end up looking professional? AKA in line, level, and smooth.

#2 What to use to make these cuts? I haven’t had any luck finding a hole saw this small that wouldn’t cause damage/melt the PVC. Would a normal drill bit then sandpaper work? What kind of drill bit? What kind of sandpaper? Can you even use sandpaper on PVC? Etc.

Any and all advice would be appreciated!

Thank you.

How can I cut all garage posts to the same height without a laser level?

Hi everyone.

I recently installed 8 wooden posts for a garage. The posts are mounted on 150×150 mm metal post bases that were set in concrete. Each post is about 3 meters (10 ft) long.

The garage size will be approximately 7 × 4.5 meters (23 × 15 ft). I need to trim all the posts so the final wall height is 2.3 meters (7.5 ft).

I know a laser level would be the easiest solution, but I don't have one. What methods would you recommend to transfer the same height accurately to all 8 posts?

I was considering:

  • a water level (clear hose filled with water),
  • a string line,
  • a long straight board and spirit level.

Are there any other reliable methods for a project of this size?

Thanks for your advice!

Did I install these correctly with the short end going into the stud? I did look this up online but I'm seeing conflicting information.

I really need to touch up on my physics.

How do I properly seal this off?

Multiple gaps under garage door framing that lead to outside, including the one in the attached images. Large enough for roaches and lizards to crawl under.
I don’t want to half-ass this, I want to do it properly the first time and never worry about it again. And even if I do half-ass it, I still want to know so I can sound smart if someone asks me.
