How to create a smoother surface on steps?

We have a disabled daughter who can't manage steps without hand rails. We're waiting (and waiting) for the Council to provide railings...

in the meantime is there anything we can use to coat these steps to give a smoother finish? We'll still need some grip but at the moment this is cutting holes in every pair of her shorts & trousers.

Edit to add: still want some traction, but these are so rough they create holes in everything. There must be a middle ground!

Getting eosinophilic asthma under control

I've been suffering with terrible asthma the past few months, with accompanying chest pains and fatigue. I had a 5 day course of prednisolone a few weeks back which took the edge off it, but I'm still maxing out my inhalers. Saw a GP after the oral steroids ended and he could not have been less bothered! He's just like yeah, it takes a few weeks for the inflammation to reduce, just take it easy.

Anyway, this morning I saw the most amazing asthma nurse. She went through all my medical notes, checked back on previous results, did a FeNo test which came back at 55. It was so validating to have someone take it seriously and not feel like I'm wasting their time.

She's putting me on an ICS/LABA/LAMA triple inhaler, plus ventolin as needed. I'm really hoping this does the trick. If not, I'll be begging respiratory for biologics!

Anyone else managed to get EA under control without biologics?

Sats dipping

I developed eosinophilic asthma a few years ago. It's pretty steady on symbicort and spiriva, but has been worse for a month or so now. I've had a few patches of feeling light headed recently, and my sats have been low. When I take extra symbicort it comes back up. This afternoon my sats were 85! Took my symbicort and it went back up to 94.

Normally my sats remain pretty good but my work of breathing increases. This past week I've had chest tightness but no increased wob with the low sats.

Has anyone else had this?
