FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Good afternoon! Long story short I am doing my comprehensive training through CP. Unfortunately where I live the diversity scholarship does not apply to my program as they’re still “working on it”😅 so I was wondering if there are any other outlets I could reach out to or look into to get some assistance? I split up my program and I need to pay for my second half soon and I was just trying to get ahead of the game. I know it’s a longshot, but I wanted to see if there was any outlets for that.❤️ thank you!

MAT SUGGESTIONS FOR FIRST CLASS

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m excited to share that I’ll be starting to teach Mat Pilates at Genesis Health Clubs beginning Tuesday, July 7! i
I wanted to reach out to all of the group fitness instructors, personal trainers, and Pilates instructors in this group because I’d love to learn from your experience!
A few questions:
🩵 What do you use to create your class playlists? Do you have favorite apps or websites?
🩵 How did you build attendance when you first started teaching? Any tips for getting people in the door and coming back consistently?
🩵 What’s one thing you wish someone had told you before you started teaching group fitness?
🩵 What has been the best way you’ve promoted your classes? Social media? Word of mouth? Talking to members before and after class?
🩵 Any advice for a brand-new instructor to help create a fun, welcoming class that keeps people coming back?
I’d love to hear any tips, tricks, or advice you have! Thank you all in advance—I truly appreciate it! 💙

BRIDGE WITH BALANCED BODY

Looking for some insight from anyone who has bridged into the Balanced Body program!
I am currently in a comprehensive Pilates certification program and have already completed Reformer, Mat, and Special Populations. I’m exploring the possibility of bridging the remainder of my training through Balanced Body and completing the other apparatus courses there.
For those who have gone through Balanced Body or bridged from another program:
• What was your experience like?
• How did the bridge process work?
• Did you feel well-supported throughout the program?
• Was it worth making the switch?
I’d love to hear the pros, cons, and anything you wish you had known beforehand.
Also, if anyone has Balanced Body manuals that they’re no longer using and would be willing to sell or part with, please send me a message! I’d rather check with the Pilates community before purchasing everything brand new.
Thank you in advance for any advice or experiences you’re willing to share! ❤️

ADVICE

Hey all! I could really use some perspective from Pilates instructors, apprentices, and fitness professionals.
I’ve been in a comprehensive Pilates certification program and recently hit a point where I’m questioning whether I should continue on my current path or explore a different program.
For context, I had a mentor who was a huge source of support throughout my journey, and she recently retired. Around the same time, I had my first truly bad teaching experience on the microphone. I’ve taught on the microphone before and received positive feedback, but this particular class completely unraveled and shook my confidence.
What has been difficult for me is that I had already completed the requirements I was given to move toward apprenticeship and was under the impression that I was getting close to that next step. I worked very hard to complete my observation hours, anatomy work, practice teaching, and client sessions. I even have additional practice clients scheduled because I genuinely love teaching and want to improve.
After this recent class, I was told that I would not be returning to the microphone for the time being and that I need additional practice with clients. I was also told that it feels like I am rushing through the program, which was difficult to hear because I don’t feel like I’ve been rushing due to a lack of care. If anything, I’ve been moving quickly because I’m passionate about becoming an instructor and have invested a significant amount of time, money, and energy into this process.
I fully acknowledge that I made mistakes in that class and that I have areas to improve. My struggle is that I feel like one bad teaching experience has suddenly changed the trajectory of a process that I believed I was successfully progressing through.
For those who have been through certification programs:
• Have you ever felt like expectations changed after you had already completed the requirements that were communicated to you?
• Have you ever been pulled back from teaching opportunities after one difficult class?
• At what point do you decide whether a program is still the right fit versus looking into another certification path?
• How do you balance taking accountability for mistakes while also advocating for yourself when you feel unsupported?
I’m genuinely looking for honest perspectives from people who have been through something similar.

UPDATE: My master trainer emailed me back and she was not supportive at all. Totally agrees that I shouldn’t be on the microphone anymore and then she told me that I need to take classes when I’m paying $200 a month for unlimited membership and I work out 6 days a week….. 😅😅😅 then she also said that she would hate to see me go into another program but didn’t seem to be very compassionate about it. I also landed a mat position at Genesis gym for every Tuesday at 5:30 so it’s like I’ve have a studio to gain experience I know it’s not reformer, but I have somewhere to make a little bit of money and I can count that towards my hours, but overall my program through Club Pilates is not turning out to be what I thought after everything the managers have changed so I don’t think it’s worth it??
