Hi all. I think I know the answer here, i just need to get feedback. I’m a 38 year old male psychiatrist in private practice in California. I never got disability insurance when i was a resident because i couldn’t think about my finances at that time - i was too young. I’ve seen been getting matters in order and on the rec of my financial advisor applied for an own occupation disability policy. I am basically healthy without any chronic issues. I’m probably going to say yes to this but I bristle at how shockingly expensive it is and part of me feels like it’s a scam even though I know if something bad happened I would be glad to have the coverage and that’s why you buy insurance - to plan for the unexpected. What do yall think about this policy?
