playing rugby for the first time as a college freshman
hi!! i’m headed to college this fall and my school has a women’s club team that is no cuts, no tryouts, no experience needed. I would really like to join and even though there isn’t any experience needed, I’d like to at least try to get into better shape and hold a ball before my first practice. For context, I am a former competitive alpine ski racer (2 years since my last race, now I coach), \~ 5’9” and \~185lbs. I’m still very strong, especially in my legs, from skiing, but I’ve definitely been a bit lazy with going to the gym lately. My cardio is probably the most out of shape, although I live at 9k ft of elevation, so at least I’ll have a bit more air when I’m down at sea level. Anyway, all this to say, I would love some advice and encouragement if anyone can give me some!!
