Since the selector update about a week ago, the “Think harder” setting keeps randomly disappearing. I used to keep ChatGPT on Pro mode and just tap once. Now I have to open the stupid menu and manually enable reasoning again and again.
Codex desktop remebers the same mode across chats, so why cant ChatGPT??

Honestly it feels like reasoning is being hidden to save compute. Im paying for Pro because I usually dont want the fastest, dumbest answer. Just let me keep “Think harder” always on. Is anyone else extremely annoyed by this? I hate unneccessary changes like this.

I just gave voice mode a try, and it was miserable. Very confusing, kinda slow (no, actually really slooow), and honestly, it makes zero sense for development. It was not helpful at all and felt like it was rushed to be released as a feature too.

Somehow, it also switched my model from Sol to Terra and had me spend 10 minutes without adding anything useful. Honestly, I would have been faster just dictating continuously and uninterrupted, without it constantly pitching in, because it was always useless and never contributed to my thinking.

Such a stupid feature, and it is hilarious that it was hyped by Tibo yesterday. Total fail from the Codex team instead of addressing actual pressing issues.

Also, for some reason, it split my chat into two after I switched the model and sent a new instruction from another chat, but then continued working in the original chat. That is 100% a bug.

This was just super frustrating, honestly.

I hate adding to the whole usage limit thing but yeah after my normal weekly reset yesterday on Pro 20x my usage is going away way faster

I track token usage pretty closely and before my weekly bucket was usually around $2400 API equivalent

right now it looks more like $1700
so almost a third less

Same work same kind of tasks but it burns through the weekly water so much faster now. It is sharp enough that it almost feels like a bug or some quiet limit change

I finally get why people were saying it feels different

Has anyone else who actually tracks usage noticed this after reset or is there something I am missing?
