Potentially moving to Mechanicsburg
Hi all!
My husband and I are thinking about a potential move to the Mechanicsburg area. We would like to live within the Cumberland school district as we have an almost 4 year old and 1 year old.
We would be moving from Chester county in West Chester.
I’m looking for any and all advice! We’ve lived in West Chester for 5 years now and while there is a small sense of community, we feel like that’s really lacking. My husband grew up further up in Central PA and misses the green space. We want that for our kids.
The one thing I’m worried about is that my daughter loves her preschool here. We’d probably be moving mid school year (likely early spring I think?) and I’d love to get her into a preschool mid year or at least have some summer camps lined up for her. Is the entering a preschool mid year thing even possible?
The other big thing on my mind is just find babysitters in general. Right now we live near West Chester University and there’s a Facebook group for finding childcare/babysitters. Is this also a thing there? My husband and I both work from home but obviously need childcare throughout the day.
