Pantry System Help

Hi all, my fiance and I (both 19) just moved into our own apartment yesterday. It doesn't have a pantry so we made kind of our own from Facebook marketplace finds. I want to be mostly an ingredient household. I've been learning to make so many things from scratch but neither of us grew up in a home that prioritized healthy eating so we're kind of at a loss for how to set it up

I bought a lot of these mason jars and other glass storage on a whim because I thought they were cute but now I think it's silly to take something out of its original packaging just to put it in another container yk? We're prioritizing low tox and low waste so I'm open to bulk shopping, but I don't know how to do that effectively for two people. I've also looked into potentially going into Portland twice a month and doing refillery style grocery shopping.

Attached is our makeshift pantry, we also have a small island because we have limited counter space. And we currently have one empty drawer in our kitchen as well.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

Apartment composting help

So I got this container from a thrift store because it looked cute. I'm wondering it it will actually work for a 1 bedroom apartment compost bin!

I want to compost to be as zero waste as possible of course and also for my plants. I have a few (but wanting to grow my collection) houseplants and I want to start an indoor herb garden because my kitchen has a beautiful window in it

How do I even start?? Will this container work? I'm not a super big fan of bugs but I'll consider worms if they won't crawl out 😅😭

Also I don't want my apartment to smell like garbage either. It's fairly small

Any tips??

Update:

Thank you guys for the such quick responses! I have a patio but I'll need to ask my landlord if it's for us or him (we live in a basement apartment) If we can use it I'll look for a tumbler!

Copper IUD Major Pain

I got my copper IUD in just over a month ago, I'm on my period and I was expecting a heavier and more painful period than normal but nothing like this.

When I got it inserted I took 400mg Tylenol before the procedure and was given some loopy meds but not pain meds, lidocaine in my vagina (but not actually my cervix which would have made more sense 🙄) I've never been pregnant so they said it would possibly hurt more. It was the most painful experience of my life. I was gripping the bed and yelling in agony. Legs shaking, seeing stars the, whole thing. My fiance was in the room with me and he was crying with horror watching it and appalled I wasn't put under for it. It took me three whole days to recover

Since then I've been having random waves of cramps throughout the day and I figure it's just my body adjusting still.

Now I'm on my period and there's so much blood which I know is normal, but the pain is unbearable. I was literally doubled over at work barely able to make it through the day. It feels like how it did during the procedure almost. It's so awful that I want to get it removed

Is it worth it? Should I stick it out? I don't know what other kind of birth control will work because I don't want anything hormonal but is there no other option?

-Sincerely a scared 18 year old who wants to have kids, just not right now

Desperate need of help

I 18F am having a UTI (I think) symptoms started today, can't get into the doctor until Monday and I'm in the middle of a performance of fiddler on the roof as a main character and I have another show tomorrow.

Any tips to help manage the burning while I'm performing???

I'm fairly certain it's because I'm sexually active and God awful at drinking water and I'm dehydrated but I'm scared this is gonna be a recurring thing. My fiance and I only recently started being sexually active and that's when the UTIs started UGH

I really just need help muscling through the next two shows

Update: thank you guys for your help! Closing night went great, channeled my pain into my sad songs and everything was alright 😅 I'm on antibiotics so hopefully won't be dying by Monday when I have work
