Misinformation

Went to the doctor for burning when urinating last February. I got tested for everything but herpes because the doctor said if I didn’t have blisters it wouldn’t be herpes. I didn’t test positive for anything else. Got tested for everything last Monday and came back positive for HSV-2. First STD ever. I feel played by the doctor that told me I didn’t need the herpes test back in February. I have had it since February and haven’t known at all? I am not familiar with how herpes works
The girl that gave it to me was a girl I was comfortable with and had sex with before. Weird that she didn’t want me to use a condom knowing she been with others.
Even worse, I had plans to take someone I’ve recently been seeing on a vacation but I felt I had to disappear, I don’t know how to tell her what’s happened to me. Not just her but all the other women that I made plans with. She is very upset with me, I don’t blame her, we were about to have a good time. She was the reason I went to go get tested because I wanted to be sure I didn’t have anything. I am 27 and not sure what it will be like in the future.

Has anyone had that symptom where it burns when they urinate and nothing else? If I hadn’t got tested , I wouldn’t have known I had it. I still am a bit in shock that I have it.
