Doggy backpack & sitting down

Hi, my dog is 12 years old, 13 lbs., and has IVDD. He is a mixed breed. He had a pretty bad episode early this year that resulted in some temporary paralysis/wobbling. He’s recovered and doing great, though his lifestyle has obviously required some changes and adjustments.

He is only allowed to walk about 10 minutes or so at a time, per the vet’s orders. Problem is, my dog doesn’t understand this and still has lots of energy and wants to go on the same adventures with us that he always has. So, we ordered him one of those front-carrying doggy backpacks where the dog is sitting down, with his head sticking out, so he can go out with us like he used to. My question: is being in the sitting position in the backpack going to be a risk for an IVDD flare-up? It’s not one of those ones where the dog is strapped TO you, it has a solid square base for him to sit his butt down on. We got him a stroller for longer walks and he sits down in that for long periods of time without issues.

Any advice or similar experiences are appreciated. Thank you!
