photography services by a student!

hello all! i'm an avid hobbyist photographer looking to turn things professional and make some cash while i build my portfolio.

can shoot:
• single shoots
• couple shoots
• events
• you + your pet

current rates:
• $25/h
• for single shoots usually an hr is enough.
• for >1 person, usually 1.5-2h is enough.
• for events, will depend on your event timing. event photography will be mostly candids.

extra charges apply for:
• >1.5h of one-way travel: +$18 one time fee
• festive seasons (new year's, cny, xmas, etc.): +$5/h

what you'll receive:
• an hour will yield at least 30-50 edited photos.
• editing = basic editing, eg. tweaking of lighting.
• all photos will be delivered to you within 2 weeks after from shoot date, possibly earlier!

if interested, please dm me to view my portfolio.

rates are currently cheap as i'm building my portfolio and i am a beginner at shooting people/directing poses, + i may also try experimental techniques/new compositions during the shoot, hence the pricing is cheap to reflect that! 😊

(extra time may be added for free if i do experiment)

jun '26: daocheng yading hike

my favourite shots from my daocheng yading hike! pictures taken are of luorong pasture, milk lake, and five colour lake. i didn't take much photos as it rained most of the hike so i couldn't whip out my camera easily (had a raincoat over me) + i was battling knee pain from all the stairs. i had just sprained my ankle three weeks prior to the hike and ended up overusing my knee on the stairs, so i didn't really had the mood to even admire the scenery.

but this gorgeous rainbow appeared out of nowhere when i was almost back at the shuttle bus point... and that made everything so worth it! the rainbow came and went in 5mins so it felt like a sign for me haha. such a gruelling hike honestly bc i had the knee pain, but the views were so gorgeous!!

is this normal or do i have social anxiety?

hey y'all, are these normal thought processes or is it worth seeing a therapist/psychologist?

context: i joined a sports group to push myself to socialize more, but it kind of backfired on myself? i joined alone and the others all joined with their friends or have been there long enough to be close to everyone. they’re friendly to me and we’ve had meals together after sports too.

logically, i KNOW no one’s said or shown that they dislike me but i still overthink things. for example, if they’re chatting with their best friend while they're both next to me (it's normal right, i’d gravitate towards my bestie too if she were there), and i end up feeling super awkward and have this feeling of being unwanted, which makes me not want to talk at all (i feel like i'm intruding but also i'll think "what can i even say that will make them want to talk to me?").

another example would be if they miss something i said and don't reply, i'd just immediately think negatively for no reason. it all adds up and i keep overthinking how to act, what to say, and how to get them to like me more everytime i go for the sports, which is really tiring.

we recently had a competition match where i know i played kinda bad so the whole day i felt terrible! after that i spent two days at home overthinking it, which is what brought me here. this isn’t new though, the sports situation is just an example because i’ve had these thoughts for a while, usually different situations but similiar contexts. the thoughts are usually something along of the lines of "they probably don’t like me" or "they probably like everyone else more". getting accidentally left out especially triggers it really badly and i've cried over this in the past.

i also tend to “perform” around people who aren’t my super close friends, where i react how i think i should instead of how i naturally would, if it makes sense? for example if A is telling a story, and it gets to a part where i think i should say something, i might just inject a "no that's so crazy" even if i don't actually think so. i'm basically just analysing when to say so that im socially correct, i suppose.

i also overanalyse what i say alot and regret things i said once i’m home? like "what if they think i'm weird?". around people i’m not close to, my mind just goes blank even though i do want to talk! my brain just goes “omg what do i say… this is so awkward! maybe...? no that’s weird… maybe ask them what they're dong tomorrow? nah we're not close though… or should i just scroll tiktok? but then they might think i’m unfriendly…” so then i give up. or sometimes i just stare in awkward silence when i can't even think of anything to possibly say... all this is making me so exhausted!!

no tldr sorry, i'm not sure how to condense this? 😭😭

may '25: chongqing, guangzhou, shanghai, beijing

i travelled to china for the first time in may last year, we visited four cities over two weeks and i absolutely loved the entire experience!!

i've travelled to china again twice more since then and i'm planning another trip to gansu next month, so i thought i'd share some of my favourite snaps from my past three trips. this post is for my first trip in may 2025 😊 i love learning about history and culture, so beijing was definitely my favourite of the four cities.

(p1-6 in chongqing, p7-12 in shanghai, p13-18 in beijing, p19-20 in guangzhou. i think i took over 1600 photos so twenty photos barely covers it haha)
