Older goalkeeper starting outdoor
Hi everyone,
I'm in my mid 30s and have recently joined an amateur team as a Goalkeeper. I've been a goalkeeper for many years playing indoor and Futsal but never outdoor 11 a side (on regular grass).
I'm finding it difficult right now adjusting which I understand is normal and it will take time. However I was wondering if there's any advice I could get regarding preparation for training, recovery week to week (I deal with general muscle soreness in a few areas), general gear/medicine/cream recommendations, stretching routines etc considering my age. I'm not really injury prone but I'm always carrying some form of soreness or tightness which makes it hard to train effectively, especially with diving and goal kicking which are both techniques I'm not really used to doing.
If the recommendation is to see a physio or GP as well to help manage things as well then I'll take that on as well.
