Why were African pagan countries converted to Christianity during European colonization, but African muslim countries remained muslim?

It seems a consistent pattern that African pagans communities were mostly christian after colonization but no muslim communities converted. Why were the Europeans not interested in converting muslims?

Why are Ethiopian cities so small outside of Addis Ababa?

I was comparing Ethiopian and Somali cities, and I was suprised to see that the Somali cities were generally more populated, even though Somalia has a 7x smaller population. Why do Ethiopian cities have such small populations? It's not even like Addis Ababa is THAT big of a city.

Why didn't East Africans mass produce their own guns even after seeing their effectiveness in war?

During the Ethiopian-Adal wars, both sides were supplied with guns by foreign empires. After the wars the region still mostly imported guns instead of producing guns themselves. Why did East Africans not produce their own guns even though they made use of them?
