100 Miler Soon — FREAKIN OUT

Heyyyyy everyone! So, I’ve been training for the last 6 months for my first 100 miler. I’m two weeks out and I think I’m freaking myself out, so I want to get some perspective.

My running has improved so much. I’m the fittest and fastest I’ve ever been. My past few runs, though, I feel like my heart is skipping and I’m breathless. I feel like I’m getting in my head and giving myself anxiety about not finishing this race. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I want to know I’m not losing my mind lol and if I am, how I can prevent crashing out until my race is done lolol

THANK YOU 🙏🏻

Can anyone tell me what bit/stung me?

I (30/f/165 lbs) experienced anaphylaxis this Saturday after being bitten/stung by a mysterious bug during a trail run (20 mins west of Atlanta, GA). Extreme swelling, welts, difficult swallowing, shortness of breath, nausea, confusion, but EMTs didn’t take me to the ER. This morning, my ankle was still so swollen my PCP couldn’t see the sting well enough to try and identify it.

It’s finally not swollen and red (received a steroid shot this morning), and I noticed you can see the bite/sting area. Can anyone identify this? I’m outside running in the woods OFTEN and I’d like to know what to avoid. Anyone have any insight? TIA :)

Career Change? Advice Appreciated!

Hi everyone!

I’m here looking for a little advice. I am currently an attorney, but went to undergrad originally set on becoming a counselor/therapist. Well, I’ve been doing the law thing for about 6 years now, and I still have a longing to be a therapist.

I’m looking to maybe start classes next year, as I need time to save some cash and get things in order. But, I was wondering what your experiences have been like in school? What the field looks like job-opportunity-wise? Any regrets or things I should consider before making such a big change?

Thank you in advance!
