When should I tell my new job I’m pregnant?
I’m starting my new job today, at 19w5d pregnant. I didn’t mention my pregnancy through the entire (long) hiring process. The job is a remote position, and even the interview was over a video call, so they couldn’t tell I’m showing. I didn’t want to mention the pregnancy before I secured the job, as I didn’t want to be discriminated against, and I REALLY wanted this job (I know they legally can’t discriminate because of pregnancy, but they can come up with literally any other reason they seem fit, so, better safe than sorry). Now at just about 20 weeks, I’m definitely showing; but still, since I’m working from home, they won’t be able to see that. The training program for the position lasts 8 weeks, and is remote as well. Do I wait until after training is over to mention it? That would still give them roughly 3 months to plan around my parental leave. What should I do?
