I have a 2025 VW T-Roc (same as in picture). I previously owned a Skoda Octavia RS169, which was a great car until the warranty ran out, then not so great. But I liked that it had lots of features for a lower price point than the top of the line VWs, how it drove and that it felt ‘firm’ on the road. Plus it went when you put your foot down. I chose the T-Roc over the A3 because it had that same ‘firm’ feeling and it is also very zippy.
All this aside, I’m disappointed in how shitty and cheap this car is for the top spec model. Yes, absolutely first world problems - don’t come for me 😂 but My Skoda had electric front seats and the memory setting for driver and passenger, the VW only has it for the driver. The emergency break in the VW seems super sensitive and activates just pulling out of the drive way but not when driving when you’d think it should. Someone also knocked the side mirrors walking past and it all but fell apart.
So why I think the VW is shitty: The little plastic thing to move the vents in the back seat snapped when I flicked it across and the other day the plastic case on the front passenger seat belt broke on top while unbuckling and now falls down, exposing the buckle mechanism.
My question is: would this be covered under the warranty? The car is only a year or so old. The dealer says they need to book it in and assess it and ask VW Aus and they’ll decide if it’s covered. I was quoted $250 for the assessment if it’s not a warranty job. Are they just trying to rip me off because I’m female?
Thanks 🙏
