Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #11: Blood in the Labyrinth

My favorite track off of Inferno! This photo was taken at the amazing Huntington Gardens in Pasadena. The original photo was edited tilt-shift style for the cool perspective. Obviously kept it the same on the edit and feel like this worked well for this track.

Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #10: Chromakey Dreamcoat

10 of these now! It has been pretty fun so far. I'm going to have to slow down a bit here with my semester starting up in a few days, but I do have a few more that are close to ready at least.

For this one, I technically did not take this photo/video capture - but it was taken using my camera during a short film project for school some years back. This was somewhere out in the hills near Tracy, California. That's actually me on the left and also my beat up Mazda 626 lol.

I wanted to have a photo with people in it because why not take a stab at the iconic BoC faceless thing? I feel like Chromakey Dreamcoat worked well enough for this one, and I do get vibes of hitting the open road when listening to the track. Let me know what you think, and if anyone has knowledge of exact BoC-style editing techniques for the faceless look let me know...I like the way it turned out but I wouldn't mind remaking it if I learn a better method.

Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #9: Bocuma

It's been a long time since I lived in Pasadena, CA - so I don't remember the name of this building, but I believe it was on Lake Avenue. Love getting a piece of the San Gabriel Mountains in the background on this one. The building patterns from this angle I feel fit the MHTRTC vibe and picking Bocuma for this photo seemed like the best choice.

Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #7: Split Your Infinities

Hey all, back again. This time it is the second Tomorrow's Harvest track I've finished - Split Your Infinities. Really liked this photo in the Pasadena Metro Station for the symmetry - and the man in the distance along with the water bottle in the foreground. In my edit, I wanted to create a haze/flare effect to better match the tone of TH. Pretty big difference from the original photo which I like a lot on its own as well.

Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #6: Julie and Candy

This was a picture taken in Northern California in a local forest reservation. I was doing a photoshoot for two sisters, most of which were smiling portraits but this was a candid one I thought of taking while in a more "hallway" section of the forest. I think this works with Julie and Candy especially with the song's title implying two females (whether or not it is the bad story or the more raunchy one - who knows?). But either way, just decided to use this picture for that song because it likely fit the most.

Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #5: Nothing is Real

Hey everyone, wanted to keep this going of course. I'm on day 14 of a 21 day trip to the UK (England, Scotland, Wales - no NI this time). Have some peaceful downtime here in Ballachulish, Scotland this evening and felt like posting.

First post made using a Tommorow's Harvest track - Nothing is Real. Always liked the original photo of this taken in Pasadena, California - it's simple and somewhat naturally psychedelic/uncanny to me. I feel it fits the somewhat hopeful tone of Nothing is Real. Also, have taken tons of pictures over here and very excited to think of BoC-related uses for them!

Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #4: The Color of the Fire

This photo was taken in Cambodia, somewhere on the grounds of the ancient Ankgor Wat temple complex. I think this shows off the innocence that The Color of the Fire makes me feel. Happy with this one.

Also, tomorrow I'm going to England/Scotland/Wales for close to a month - I'll try to squeeze in a post or two when I'm over there, I have a few made already.

Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #3: Slow This Bird Down

This is one of my favorite photos I've taken in the Los Angeles hills facing east towards the amazing San Gabriel Mountains. The "original" image was edited as well to get the blur of the giant branches in the middle (don't have the first take anymore). Catch the people on the tree swing on the left side of the image, really makes it IMO and is why I chose to blur the center to draw the eye there.

I chose Slow This Bird Down because I felt it matched the calm vibe of the image and the open nature space fits the track.

Making BoC single covers using my own photography - Post #2: Beware the Friendly Stranger

This was one of those incredible timing type of photos I captured a long time ago at Pasadena City College in Southern California. Crazy shadow reflecting off of a statue on campus. I thought "Geogaddi" immediately when editing this for a BoC single, and Beware the Friendly Stranger seemed the most appropriate.

Making BoC singles covers using my own photography - Post #1: Amo Bishop Roden

Hey everyone, I posted a Pete Standing Alone edit a few days ago and it inspired me to look through my years of photography to see if I have more relevant Boards of Canada-vibe photos.

Turns out I have a lot of candidates for BoC edits, and this was the first one I worked on. Hopefully I can space these edits out around once a week going forward, and I'll always post the original photo(s) alongside the edit as well.

Anyways, here is the first idea: Amo Bishop Roden!

Pete Standing Alone image edit/poster idea *re-upload w/ with proper MHTRTC font*

*Had to repost because reddit doesn't allow more images to be added on an edit*

At my place of work in the between area of the neighboring building, there is this Native American fella hanging out. Caught a photo at a cool time and was inspired to make a PSA edit! Original pic on 2nd slide for reference (and I don't mind if someone would like to make one of their own).
