Oasis Through the Lens of Jill Furmanovsky Part 2 of 2
Great interview with photographer Jill Furmanovsky.

Great interview with photographer Jill Furmanovsky.
Bought myself and the kid samples to see if we liked them. We did. So I bought more for us both, seven packs. A few months in his started to had a quality issue in the waistband. Mine were fine. Roughly the same wear/wash cycle for his and mine. I took some pics and sent the order number to their support. They responded promptly and asked for a couple more pics of specifics so they could see the manufacturing batch the QC issue was a part of. They also, without prompting sent me a replacement order. What made it even better is I asked if they could change the size on the replacement order (the boy is growing!!) and they did so without issue. The whole process was fast, I felt listened to and all happened without social media shaming. Will order from them again and would recommend.
Proof I'm not a manmade shill - I still think they're overpriced, disappointed they're not made here and from my limited understanding the modal fabric may not be the best environmental choice. That said, they're more comfortable than Saxx (samish price) for me. Athletic socks are decent too.
First, I am not formally educated in animal psychology nor claim actual expertise. That said, I grew up around these derps and feel familiar and make a silly joke that while I am a dog person, my dialect is specifically German Shepherd. What that means to me is I can get on with just about any healthy dog, but I feel I understand German Shepherds. I look into that face and... I know. Anyway, recently I was camping with some folks, not dog people, and there was a dog whining at an adjacent campsite that was out of sight beyond a sand dune. My fellow campers complained about the whining. I stated offhand, "sounds like a shepherd, probably under two and female. She's probably upset her owner is going out of sight and sounding the alarm. She'll stop when they return." Shortly the whining stopped and we didn't hear a peep again that night.
The next day while wandering over to the beach I passed the site with the dog. Yep, GSD leashed to a tree. Beautiful girl. Walked over and spoke to the owner and said you have a beautiful dog and asked about her. Turns out the dog is indeed female, 18 months old and has attachment issues with dad and sounds the alarm every time he goes out of sight. Could I do it again so specifically? I wouldn't bet on it, but boy do I feel smug that I'm a GSD whisperer.
