Harry was already an old man when I met him a few years ago. He's slowed down a lot in that time, and today the owner told me it was time to say goodbye. I managed to run to a local pet treat bakery and have them add the text, "Thank you for being a friend" to a small cake for Harry to enjoy before they had to take him to the vet. And it's true—Harry was a friend. I'll miss his little hops & tufty butt and our verrrryyyy slow walks down the street while the neighbors giggled at him laying down in the shade. This is the hardest part of the job, saying goodbye.
