Guests fraternizing with crew

This has happened about a year ago when I was on a week-long cruise. I will remain vague, as I don't know whether that crew member could be tracked down and be disciplined in any way.

On an evening I went to a counter (not bar) in a place that hand gotten quiet and handed my room card to the crew member. I was wearing a ring with a rainbow (thicker stainless steel ring with seven coloured lacquered bands) to give hints to whomever cared to look for them; I'm otherwise a pretty "grey" middle aged guy.

The crew member lit up and stared complimenting me on how pretty the ring is and whether he could see It a bit more, touching the my hand and my ringfinger (and I went along). There were no other passengers close by and only another female crew member behind the counter that was smiling at the interaction.

While I was very tempted to take it further, I just thanked him very much for the compliments and said that I was happy he liked it until the conversation needed to come back to the transaction.

As I said, I was very tempted and have been thinking back to this quite a few times... So I wanted to ask: did I do the right thing by not taking it further? Would the crew member have been in trouble? Would I have been in trouble? What could have happened? Anybody can shed some light on a situation I've been going back an forth on for some time now?

Yet again... booking not in the app

Hello! I've seen this is a recurring issue and maybe some of the you are tired of hearing this, bur here's my situation:

* I booked over a year ago and wasn't sure able to get my booking into the app. I then let it slide and forgot about it it.

* Some days ago I remembered I wanted to lookup exclusions and extras and tried to add my reservation again. I even confirmed with my travel agency that the HAL booking is number they gave me was correct.

* I've logged in and out of the app. I've cleared the cache. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it. No joy!

* I've tried the chatbot (useless) and wrote an email to their app support 2 days ago (no response)

* I don't live in the USA or Canada, so calling the number they refer to in their error messages would have me incur in international call charges I don't really want.

* When I go through the website on a computer, I can add the booking and it does appear under my profile.

Do any of you know how to get the app to work within my booking? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help!

Help me love my trip with NCL

So, as the title says, I need help naming the most out of an upcoming cruise on the Norwegian Dawn bordering the Iberian Peninsula.

Last year I took a Mediterranean cruise at the end of the season on the Breakaway and I left disappointed. My main qualms were that the food at the buffet was somewhere between boring and inedible (and I haven't gone to specialty restaurants, because I couldn't be bothered with reservations and I take medication that may knock me out at dinner time short notice).

I also felt that during the day, people were either all collecting in the atrium or pool, which then became crowded, while other areas on the ship sat empty or little groups of people would sit here and there, but there would be no service or open bar nearby to grab a drink.

I also found the solo lounge to be dead the times I went, except on the first day.

My other reference point I have when cruising is Celebrity where I have cruised on the Ascent (not comparable, I know) and Equinox, where I may have been spoilt rotten with the buffet, Café al Baccio, attentivenes of all my cabin attendants and service overall.

By contrast, on the Breakaway I was paying something over $2 for every drink covered by my package, as they were passing on VAT charges that became applicable for intra-EU sailings after I had made the booking (but me, being a Spanish resident, have already paid VAT on my booking anyway! And Celebrity hasn't done this, despite my booking and sailing also being before/after VAT charges we're put into place). Paying extra for something that was lacklustre to what I was used to from other experiences just left a bad taste in my mouth.

So here I am, asking you for advice on how to make the most of my upcoming trip. I know enough of you are happy sailing with NCL, so tell me what I didn't do right to make the most out of the trip! Your input is very much appreciated!

Circumveting the Solo Cruiser Penalty

So, when browsing for some cruises for the next year I noticed that the price for a single person booking would come out to be more expensive than when searching for two, or the sailing would not accept bookings for a single traveller outright.

This got me thinking: could I put down the name of a relative or a friend and if they wouldn't be able to make it on that date just board by myself or would I forfeit the booking if one of the people on the reservation no-showed (or answered the health questions as having been ill)?
