Take the icthyotitan for example, we only know it from 2 lower jaw fragments. How can we possibly know what the rest of the body looks like with certainty? I suppose we could reasonably assume it looks vaguely like the other icthyosaurians but what if it had 4 flippers instead of 2?
And how do we figure out what bone belongs to which species? It was only 2 fragments.
Are there any examples of us finding fragments, guessing what the rest of it looks like, and then getting the rest of the bones later? How accurate are the guesses?
There are so many different dinosaurs that look so strikingly similer to each other it seems unbelievable that they are 2 different species.
I mostly say this because of what I’ve seen in Jurassic Park, specifically the Jurassic World Evolution video game series. So I’m probably very wrong and should totally disregard that “source”.
Also because they are herding herbivores.
In game they just remind me of cows so much.
I reloaded the game and opened and closed the park, nothing
Ships are not cheap, I’m curious what everyone does for work
