🏠 How to Find Accommodation Near TU Dresden (2026 Guide)

One of the advantages of studying at TU Dresden is that finding accommodation is generally easier than in cities like Berlin or Munich. However, it's still worth starting your search early, especially for the winter semester.

Here are the best options:

🥇 1. Studentenwerk Dresden (Best for most students)

• Affordable student dormitories

• Close to campus

• Apply as soon as you receive your admission or become eligible

🥈 2. WG-Gesucht

Germany's most popular website for shared apartments (WGs). Great if you're looking for roommates and lower rent.

🥉 3. Private Student Residences

Examples include:

• Franklin20

• Home & Co

• Hildebrandstraße

• mondial Campus

These are recommended by TU Dresden as private student accommodation options.

🏠 4. Private Apartments

Look on:

• ImmoScout24

• Kleinanzeigen

• Immonet

👥 5. University & Student Groups

Check WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook groups, and Reddit. Students often post room offers before they appear elsewhere.

📌 Bonus Tip

TU Dresden also recommends checking bulletin boards around campus, especially in cafeterias and university buildings, where students advertise available rooms.

Here's why I’m building a home for TUD.

# Here's why I'm building r/TUDresdenHub 💙

As a future TU Dresden student, I noticed there wasn't one active, modern community where applicants, admitted students, current students, and alumni could easily connect and help each other.

So I decided to create one.

My goal isn't to replace any existing communities—it's to build a place that's active, welcoming, and always up to date.

Here, you'll find discussions about:

🎓 Admissions & Applications

🛂 Visa & Relocation

🏠 Accommodation

📚 Academics & Course Reviews

💼 Jobs & Internships

🎉 Student Life in Dresden

🔬 Research & Innovation

Most importantly, I want this community to stay current with TU Dresden's latest updates and branding while remaining a friendly place where students genuinely help one another.

This community will only become great because of its members.

💬 Why are you here?

• Planning to apply?

• Already admitted?

• Currently studying?

• Alumni?

ACCESS - TU DRESDEN update

Hey did anyone receive admit from TUD For ACCESS programme

u/cine-uday — 4 days ago

Preliminary Review, How long did yours take?

My application is in preliminary review for 5 days now.

I know the overall processing time can be 2 to 8 weeks, but I just wanted to know how long your preliminary review stage took before moving to the next stage.

Is this normal? Any Bengaluru VFS applicants here for Winter intake? How many days did your preliminary review take?....
