It has been an unusually frequent occurrence lately, almost every day, that Octopus has offered me free electricity during the day via Power-Ups.
Now even at weekend; this never happened before.

Anyone else seeing similar frequency?
Does anyone know how these are sent out? Does everyone get them or is there an algorithm to the allocation?

I've had none over the winter, and all of the sudden it's daily.
Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying charging the car for free, but curious how we get picked.

I understand this is highly localised, but it's sometimes baffling that these come when the tariff (Octopus Agile) is quite high and the renewables contribution to the grid nationally is not that high.

Octopus Power-Ups email invites almost daily

I have the new Octopus Charge car charger which is clearly optimised for Octopus' Intelligent Go tariff.

However, I prefer the Agile tariff and would like the ability to trigger the charging sessions from within Home Assistant, either through automations or scheduler.

The Octopus API and /or the Octopus integration expose only minimal settings for this charger:

* switch.octopus_energy_charger_intelligent_bump_charge
* number.octopus_energy_charger_intelligent_charge_target
* switch.octopus_energy_charger_intelligent_smart_charge
* select.octopus_energy_charger_intelligent_target_time

I read somewhere that this might support an open standard, but I can't find any official info from Octopus.

Sure, I can manually set schedules from the Octopus app, but that would mean doing things twice since I'm already setting schedules in Home Assistant.

I thought this was supposed to be the newer, better EV charger but so far it is looking underwhelming.

How can I control this EV charger, simple On/Off functionality as a minimum, from an external source like Home Assistant?
