a lot of people say that stands like star platinum and the world are "faster then light", but that doesn't really sit quite right with me because these claims largely come from feats like when silver chariot cut the hanged man(a stand that travels from reflection to reflection at the speed of light), and when it blocked the beams from the sun stand. the hanged man only had one direction to go being up, so it's fairly reasonable to say that silver chariot predicted where it was going. as for the sun it was never stated that it's beams were light, and it could have just as easily been solar flairs of some sort. so one should either take these feats with a gram of salt. or maybe it was better explained in the manga?
